Introduction
An oxide gold heap leaching plant is an industrial metallurgical facility designed to extract gold from low-to-medium-grade oxide ores by stacking the crushed material into large pads and percolating a dilute cyanide solution through it. This cost-effective method avoids the need for expensive fine grinding, making it a cornerstone for treating weathered and oxidized gold deposits.
Working Principle
The operational principle relies on percolation and chemical dissolution. A weak alkaline cyanide solution is continuously sprayed or dripped over the stacked ore heap, slowly trickling downward to dissolve the exposed microscopic gold particles and form a pregnant liquid solution that collects at the bottom for downstream recovery.
