SONCEBOZ EHPS Steering Pump

Product Overview

The electro-hydraulic EHPS power steering pump precisely delivers the oil flow required for the operation of hydraulic steering systems in medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This electro-hydraulic EHPS power steering pump is equipped with a redundant drive unit, which consists of a motor with integrated power electronics, a vane pump, and a customer-specific mounting bracket (optional). The integrated power electronics regulate the motor speed in an energy-efficient manner based on the steering system’s requirements (intelligent speed control) or external setpoints. The motor is a synchronous motor (PSM) equipped with redundant and physically separated winding sets. The motor operates at the same speed as the vane pump. The vane pump features a dual-circuit design and consists of a pump housing, cover plate, front cover plate, shaft, and rotor assembly. The rotor assembly includes the rotor, ten radially guided vanes, and a cam ring. The oil flow rate generated is proportional to the rotational speed. Both the motor’s power and speed, as well as the pump’s transmission characteristics, have been mutually optimized for noise reduction in electric vehicle (EV) applications.
