Brief Introduction:
The automatic filter directly intercepts impurities in water via the filter screen to remove suspended solids and particles, reduce turbidity, purify water quality, and inhibit the formation of dirt, algae, bacteria and corrosion inside the system. It is precision equipment that purifies water and ensures stable operation of other system equipment. Water enters the automatic filter body through the inlet. Benefiting from intelligent design (PLC control), the system automatically detects the accumulation of contaminants and sends signals to the blowdown valve for automatic sewage discharge.
Mesh filter elements are commonly adopted inside conventional filters. Thanks to excellent filtering performance, high flow capacity and low resistance, they are widely used in raw water filtration, industrial circulating water systems and other fields. However, they feature disadvantages such as limited dirt holding capacity, easy clogging, complicated cleaning procedures. The filter has to be disassembled for screen cleaning, and the operating status cannot be monitored. Moreover, its operation is heavily affected by human factors, leading to troublesome maintenance in the later stage of the system.
The automatic self-cleaning filter can filter raw water and automatically wash and drain contaminants from the screen, while maintaining continuous water flow during cleaning and blowdown. Compared with traditional filters, it boasts a high degree of automation, large treatment capacity, automatic self-cleaning and blowdown function, uninterrupted water supply and wide application range.
The L-type automatic self-cleaning filter is extensively used to remove sand and sludge from river water and well water for irrigation, protecting pipeline valves, instruments and sprinklers. It is applicable to circulating and non-circulating cooling water systems, heat exchange systems, HVAC systems, central heating systems, hot water boiler systems and so forth, safeguarding cooling equipment, heat exchangers, air conditioners and boilers. This unit also serves as pre-filter to protect precision filters in construction, chemical, power, metallurgy, rubber, papermaking, textile, coal, food and other industries.
Working Principle:
Water enters the filter through the top inlet and flows into the screen interior first, where large-particle impurities are trapped. The fluid then passes through the wedge wire screen with wider inlet gaps and narrower outlet gaps. Fine impurities are intercepted within the slits of the wedge wire screen, and clean water flows out from the outlet.
Filtration process: As impurities accumulate gradually on the inner surface of the screen, a differential pressure builds up between the inside and outside of the screen. When the differential pressure reaches the preset value of the differential pressure transmitter, automatic backwashing will be triggered. The motor drives the rotary brush to sweep fine and coarse impurities off the screen into the filter chamber. Meanwhile, the blowdown valve opens. Under internal fluid pressure, turbid water carrying swept impurities is discharged through the blowdown outlet.
For timing control mode: When filtration reaches the preset time, the timer sends a startup signal to activate automatic backwashing. The electric brush rotates and the blowdown valve opens for drainage. For manual control mode: Operators can manually activate the electric brush and blowdown valve for impurity discharge.
The whole washing process lasts tens of seconds. The blowdown valve closes upon completion of cleaning, and the filter stands by for the next washing cycle. Fluid flow remains uninterrupted during cleaning; no shutdown or disassembly of the filter is required.
Main components: Motor speed reducer, electric control box, filter housing, screen assembly, 304 / 316 stainless steel brush, electric blowdown valve, transmission shaft, differential pressure transmitter, inlet & outlet flanges, support legs.
The L-type automatic filter realizes automatic cleaning, filtration and blowdown via a 380V or 220V power control cabinet. Fluid flow continues during backwashing. The cleaning cycle and washing duration are adjustable; the default washing time is 10~60 seconds. The water consumption for cleaning only accounts for 0.001%~0.002% of the total filtered flow. Equipment Features:
Top inlet & bottom outlet structure, generally installed on horizontal pipelines. The support legs reduce load bearing on pipelines.
Standard filtration accuracy is 100 μm, optional range: 50~3000 μm. Equipped with wedge wire screen featuring large filtration area and high dirt holding capacity; thorough backwashing leaves no residual particles.
Simple cleaning mode with electronic monitoring of cleaning cycles; supports automatic and manual backwashing. All parameters in the filter control system are adjustable.
The electrical control system is equipped with integrated motor protection. It automatically stops operation upon overload or phase loss to effectively protect the motor.
It maintains uninterrupted water supply during cleaning and blowdown, and bypass pipeline is not required. Short cleaning duration, and blowdown water consumption is less than 1% of total flow rate.
