Ball Mill for Reducing Crushed Ore from 20 mm to 0.1 mm

 

A primary grinding ball mill designed to reduce feed size from 20 mm down to 0.1 mm performs a high reduction ratio in a single or multi stage grinding circuit. It bridges the gap between coarse crushing and fine mineral liberation, converting coarse rocks directly into a fine slurry ready for downstream separation.

 

Applications

Primary Ore Processing: Transforming coarse primary feed from secondary crushers into fine pulp for copper gold and iron ore recovery.

Industrial Mineral Grinding: Reducing coarse quartz limestone and feldspar feeds to fine industrial powders.

Aggressive Reduction Circuits: Serving as the main grinding stage in mid sized processing plants to eliminate extra secondary crushing stages.

 

Working Principle

Feed Entry: Coarse ore up to 20 mm enters the rotating horizontal cylinder along with water and grinding media.

Dual Action Grinding: Large steel balls smash the incoming 20 mm rocks through heavy impact, while smaller balls grind intermediate particles down to 0.1 mm through sliding friction and attrition.

Progressive Size Reduction: Material travels continuously down the length of the drum, progressively breaking down from coarse feed to fine product.

Screen Classification: Discharge screens or external cyclonic classifiers separate the 0.1 mm fine product from coarse material which returns for re grinding.
