Mineral Ball Mill for 200-Mesh Grinding Requirement
Mineral Ball Mill for 200-Mesh Grinding Requirement
A 200-mesh (74-micron) mineral ball mill is the workhorse of the global mining and mineral processing industry. Achieving 200 mesh ($74\ \mu\text{m}$) is the standard benchmark for liberating target metals and minerals from surrounding waste rock (gangue) prior to chemical extraction or froth flotation.
1. Applications
Precious & Base Metal Beneficiation: Primary fine grinding for copper, gold, silver, iron, lead-zinc, and molybdenum ores.
Leaching & Cyanidation Prep: Grinding gold and silver ores to expose maximum surface area for chemical leach kinetics.
Industrial Minerals: Processing feldspar, barite, fluorite, and graphite to standard 200-mesh market specifications.
2. Working Principle
Feed & Rotation: Crushed ore ($
Impact & Abrasion: Steel grinding balls are lifted by the rotating shell and drop onto the material. The size reduction to 200 mesh happens via a combination of heavy impact (falling balls) and attrition (shearing between rolling balls).
Closed-Circuit Classification: The mill operates in a closed loop with hydrocyclones. Oversized particles ($>74\ \mu\text{m}$) are continuously returned to the mill feed, while the $80\%$ passing 200-mesh slurry overflows directly to downstream processing.
3. Key Advantages
Industry Gold Standard: Delivers the precise size distribution required for the vast majority of flotation and leaching plants worldwide.
High Efficiency & Throughput: Optimized ratio of ball size distribution to shell diameter ensures high tonnage with reliable continuous $24/7$ operation.
Flexible Operating Modes: Easily configured as a wet or dry grinding system, overflow type, or grate-discharge type depending on circuit needs.
Low Cost Per Ton: Proven technology with predictable liner/media wear rates, offering excellent return on investment over a long operational lifespan.
