The comprehensive test bench for new energy vehicle drive motors uses a back-to-back electrical dynamometer loading structure, integrating a high-voltage battery simulator, high-precision power analysis unit, torque and speed sensing system, multi-channel temperature control acquisition, PLC industrial control, and automated testing software. It can fully cover motor static safety checks, dynamic performance testing, full-condition efficiency calibration, cyclic durability verification, and high and low-temperature environment simulation testing needs.  


Core test items:  

(1) Static electrical safety testing  

  1. Three-phase winding DC resistance balance check, to detect coil cold solder joints, broken wires, and turn deviations; 2. Winding-to-ground insulation resistance and power frequency withstand voltage tests, to identify insulation damage and leakage risks;

  2. Resistance and wiring continuity checks for resolver/temperature sensors;

  3.  Inter-turn impulse voltage test, to identify weak insulation defects between winding turns. 

(2) Dynamic basic performance testing  

1.No-load characteristics: no-load current, no-load losses, friction torque, no-load vibration and noise;

2. Load characteristics: rated/peak torque, continuous/peak power, input and output power, overall efficiency;

3. Locked rotor test: short-term controllable locked rotor current and torque, simulating vehicle start and uphill conditions; 

4. Tests for back EMF, weak-field overspeed capability, torque constant, power density, and torque density; 

5. Automatically generates T-N, P-N, and efficiency MAP 3D characteristic curves.  

(3) Electronic control and dynamic control performance  

  1. Torque control accuracy, speed dynamic response time, step response characteristics;

2. Forward/reverse switching, acceleration/deceleration transient capture; 

3. Energy feedback performance test, simulating vehicle coasting and braking energy recovery conditions; 

4. Supports custom loading of national standard cycles such as CLTC and WLTC, reproducing real vehicle driving conditions; 

5. CAN/CANFD communication interaction, matching motor controller control strategy calibration.  

(4) Temperature rise and reliability testing  

  1. Multi-channel synchronous acquisition of stator, rotor, casing, and controller temperature rises;

2. Long-term rated condition durability cycle test; 

3. Verification of low-temperature start and high-temperature continuous operation under simulated high and low-temperature environments.  

(5) Safety protection performance verification  

Simulation of overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overload, overtemperature, overspeed faults to verify motor and system protection logic, fault alarms, and automatic shutdown functions.

Equipped with high-precision dynamic torque sensors, multi-channel power analyzers, and high-speed synchronous acquisition cards, torque, voltage, and current measurement errors are kept low, and high sampling frequency captures tiny transient condition parameter fluctuations. Test data can be directly used for third-party type certification and vehicle development benchmarking.  

3. Modular and expandable, suitable for product upgrades. 

The basic test bench has reserved expansion interfaces, allowing later installation of high and low temperature chambers, NVH noise and vibration modules, gear reducer-specific fixtures, and 800V high-voltage battery simulators without replacing the main control system. It supports testing needs for different voltage platforms and motors of various powers, reducing repeated equipment investment. 

4. Fully automatic closed-loop testing, suitable for mass production inspections. 

The industrial PC and PLC jointly control the system, completing a full set of static and dynamic tests with a single wiring; the software automatically switches working conditions, collects data, performs analysis, plots curves, and exports reports, reducing manual operation, lowering human error, and improving batch production quality control pace. 

5. High-voltage safety protection, suitable for long-term workshop operation. 

The system has multiple safety circuits, including emergency stop buttons, high-voltage interlock, audio-visual fault alarms, overvoltage/overcurrent/overheating/overspeed multi-level protection; power and signal cables are layered separately, cabinets are reliably grounded, and high-voltage areas have isolation protection, supporting 24/7 continuous testing in the workshop. 

6. Highly versatile fixtures, easy sample assembly and disassembly. 

The test bench base uses a high-strength cast platform with adjustable T-slots, paired with universal adjustable clamps, accommodating different motor frames and shaft diameters; coupling coaxiality adjustments are convenient, effectively reducing mechanical losses affecting test accuracy.
