Explosion-proof wall design, construction and installation
1. The explosion-proof wall shall be made of non-combustible materials and shall not be used as a load-bearing wall. Its fire resistance limit shall not be less than 4h.
2. The explosion-proof wall can be a reinforced brick wall. When there are many production personnel or valuable equipment in the adjacent rooms, a cast-in-situ reinforced concrete wall is recommended.
3. The thickness of the reinforced brick wall shall be determined by structural calculation, but it shall not be less than 240mm. The strength of the bricks shall not be lower than MU7.5, and the strength of the mortar shall not be lower than M5.
Reinforcement details of the explosion-proof wall
1. Along the height of the wall, 3Φ6 - 10 continuous horizontal steel bars shall be arranged every 500mm. Both ends of the steel bars shall be tied or welded to the pre-embedded steel bars of the reinforced concrete frame or bent columns.
When the length or height of the brick wall is greater than 6m, intermediate reinforced concrete columns and beams shall be provided and reinforced according to the structural requirements.
2. The concrete strength grade shall not be lower than C15, and its ends shall be connected to the roof beams, frames, and bent columns; the thickness of the reinforced concrete explosion-proof wall shall not be less than 180mm, and the concrete strength grade shall not be less than C20. The cross-sectional area of the steel bars shall be determined by structural calculation; it is not recommended to open holes in the explosion-proof wall.
3. When process pipes, cables, etc. must pass through, the holes shall not be greater than Φ200mm. Reinforcing steel bars shall be arranged around the holes, and the holes shall be filled and sealed tightly.
