Explosion-proof wall design, construction and installation

1. The explosion-proof wall should be made of non-combustible materials and should not be used as a load-bearing wall. Its fire resistance limit should not be less than 4h.

2. The explosion-proof wall can be a reinforced brick wall. When there are more production personnel or more valuable equipment in the adjacent rooms, a cast-in-place reinforced concrete wall is preferred.

3. The thickness of the reinforced brick wall should be determined by structural calculation, but it should not be less than 240mm. The strength of the bricks should not be lower than MU7.5, and the strength of the mortar should not be lower than M5.


Reinforcement details of the explosion-proof wall

1. Along the height direction of the wall, 3Φ6 - 10 long horizontal steel bars should be arranged every 500mm. Both ends of the steel bars should be bound or welded to the embedded steel bars of the reinforced concrete frame or bent column.

When the length and height of the brick wall are greater than 6m, intermediate reinforced concrete columns and beams should be provided and reinforced according to the structural requirements.

2. The concrete strength grade should not be lower than C15, and its ends should be connected to the roof beam, frame and bent columns. The thickness of the reinforced concrete explosion-proof wall should not be less than 180mm, and the concrete strength grade should not be less than C20. The cross-sectional area of the steel bars should be determined by structural calculation. It is not advisable to open holes in the explosion-proof wall.

3. When process pipelines, cables, etc. must pass through, the holes should not be larger than Φ200mm. Reinforcing steel bars should be arranged around the holes, and the holes should be filled and sealed tightly.
