CADI is produced by subjecting carbide-containing ductile iron to a specialized austempering heat treatment, resulting in an ausferrite matrix with uniformly distributed carbides and spheroidal graphite. This unique microstructure delivers an optimal balance of high hardness, exceptional toughness, and unique work-hardening capability.
What is CADI?
CADI (Carbidic Austempered Ductile Iron) is an advanced material that combines the impact toughness of ductile iron with the wear resistance of white cast iron. Through specialized austempering heat treatment, it achieves a microstructure of Ausferrite + Acicular Ferrite + Spheroidal Graphite + Carbide – delivering performance unmatched by conventional grinding media.
