Medical Device Repair Workstation — Anti Static Bench for Hospital Biomedical Calibration
Hospital biomedical engineering departments have a problem that most people don't think about.
Medical devices are getting smaller, more electronic, and more sensitive. Patient monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, ventilators — every one of them has a circuit board inside. When a biomed tech opens a device for calibration or repair, that board is exposed. And in a hospital environment, the biggest source of static isn't the device. It's the cart the device is sitting on, the table the tech is working at, and the tech's own hands.
An ESD event in a factory might kill a component. An ESD event in a hospital biomed shop means a repaired device goes back to the ICU — and fails when it's connected to a patient. That's not a yield loss. That's a patient safety issue.
We build workstations designed for hospital biomedical repair and calibration.
The work surface: built for repeated cleaning
A hospital biomed bench sees different chemicals than a factory bench. Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning contacts. Bleach wipes for disinfection. Hydrogen peroxide for sterilization. Each of these attacks the work surface differently.
Our bench uses a 5mm polymer composite ESD laminate bonded to a high-density fiberboard core. The surface is sealed with PVC edge banding on all sides. It handles regular wipe-downs with IPA, bleach solution, and peroxide without degrading. Surface resistance holds at 10⁶–10⁹ ohms — within ANSI/ESD S20.20 spec — and stays there after hundreds of cleaning cycles.
The surface is forest green. Not for looks. Hospital biomed shops are usually under fluorescent lighting, and green is the least fatiguing color for close-up work over long periods.
A ground chain connects the surface through the steel frame to your facility earth point. Static discharge happens in milliseconds.
Frame: cold-rolled steel, no shortcuts
We use cold-rolled steel for the welded frame. I've explained the difference between cold-rolled and hot-rolled in other product descriptions, so I'll keep it short here: cold-rolled is consistent, smooth, and strong. Hot-rolled is cheaper but has surface inconsistencies that trap moisture and lead to rust over time.
In a hospital setting, the frame also needs to be easy to clean. Our powder coating (electrostatic, baked at 180°C) creates a smooth, non-porous surface that doesn't trap dust or biological material. Wipe it down with any hospital-grade disinfectant. The coating won't peel or discolor.
Load capacity: 3,000 kg uniform load. Real-world example: a patient monitor calibration station with four monitors, test equipment, cables, and accessories comes to about 150 kg. A ventilator repair station with diagnostic gear might be 200 kg. You're well within safe limits even with the heaviest test setups.

Storage designed for calibration workflow
Biomed techs work differently than factory line operators. They're not repeating the same motion all shift. They're diagnosing, testing, repairing, and documenting — often on multiple devices at the same time.
The storage system needs to support that workflow, not fight it.
Our modular pegboards give you two options:
Square hole pegboard — 10×10mm holes on 28mm centers. Hang multimeter probes, screwdrivers, torque drivers, ESD wrist strap testers. Each tool has a spot. At the end of a calibration job, you can see at a glance if everything is back in place.
Louver pegboard — 50×20mm slots for bin brackets. Keep calibration adapters, test leads, programming cables, and small hardware sorted by type.
Drawer units bolt under the tabletop. Full-extension slides on ball bearings. Linked self-locking lock — one key, all drawers. If your hospital requires locked tool storage between shifts (most do), this covers it.
The light frame mounts on top. Provides even, shadow-free illumination across the full work surface. No shadows when you're reading a serial number on a circuit board or checking solder joints under magnification.
Power that doesn't get in the way
Recessed outlet panel on the back frame. One five-outlet socket (two-prong + three-prong) and one circuit breaker. Purpose: keep the work surface clear. No power strips sitting on the bench where they collect dust and get in the way of the device you're working on.
The socket placement also means you can plug in the device under test without stretching cords across the bench. Plug it into the back panel, keep the cord routed behind the device, and work without cables crossing your field of vision.
Packaging that ships worldwide
KD packaging — knocked down for shipping. Each steel component wrapped in VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) film. Foam edge protectors. Hardware bagged and taped to the frame.
Assembly by a hospital maintenance tech: roughly 20 minutes. Printed photo guide included. No special tools required.
FAQ
Does the work surface meet medical device repair facility requirements? Yes. It's cleanable with hospital-grade disinfectants. The non-porous powder coating doesn't harbor bacteria. The ESD surface meets ANSI/ESD S20.20. We can provide test reports.
Can you customize the bench for specific test equipment? Common modifications include: cutouts for oscilloscope clearance, threaded inserts for mounting test fixture arms, reinforced sections for heavy calibration rigs, and cutouts for cable management grommets. Send us your layout.
Is the frame chemically resistant to disinfectants? Yes. The powder coating is resistant to isopropyl alcohol, bleach solutions (up to 10%), hydrogen peroxide, and quaternary ammonium compounds. We can provide chemical resistance data.
Do you sell to hospital biomed departments or only to manufacturers? Both. We supply standalone workstations to hospital biomed shops and bulk orders to medical device manufacturers and third-party repair centers.
What's the warranty? [Standard warranty details — your information here]
Lead time and pricing? Standard sizes — 15–20 working days. Custom configurations — 20–25 days. Quote within 24 hours. FOB Shanghai or CIF destination port.
