1. Product Definition
Deformed steel bar, formally named Hot Rolled Ribbed Bar, is a special load-bearing steel for reinforced concrete structures. Two longitudinal ribs and crescent transverse ribs are distributed on the bar surface, which greatly enhance the bonding and anchoring force with concrete to prevent sliding. It is the core load-bearing material for construction and infrastructure projects.

2. Applicable Standards
Domestic National Standard: GB/T 1499.2-2024 Steel for Reinforcement of Concrete – Part 2: Hot Rolled Ribbed Bars
International Export Standards: ASTM A615 (Grade 40/60/75), BS4449 (B500B), ISO6935-2, JIS G3112. Custom production in accordance with customers’ required standards is available.

3. Product Grade Classification & Application Scenarios
3.1 Ordinary Non-seismic Deformed Steel Bar

3.2 Seismic Resistant Deformed Steel Bar (with suffix E): HRB400E / HRB500E
Three mandatory seismic performance indicators:
Ratio of tensile strength to yield strength Rm/Rel ≥1.25
Ratio of measured yield strength to standard yield strength ≤1.30
Total elongation at maximum force Agt ≥9.0%
Mandatory application scenarios: High-rise buildings in seismic fortification zones, schools, hospitals, bridges, tunnels, water conservancy dams and other lifeline projects.
4. Specification Parameters (Nominal Diameter: 6mm ~ 40mm)
4.1 Supply Forms
Coiled deformed bar (wire rod coil): Φ6, Φ8, Φ10, coil weight 1.5~3 tons. It can be straightened and cut on site, mainly used for stirrups and distribution reinforcement.
Straight deformed steel bar (bundled): Φ12 ~ Φ40, standard fixed lengths 9m and 12m; customized lengths of 6m/8m/11.7m/15m/18m/24m multiple lengths are acceptable.
4.2 Theoretical Weight per Meter Calculation Formula

4.3 Dimensional Tolerance
Length deviation: ±25mm for fixed length; +50mm/-0mm for short-length bars
Flat ends without burrs; no bending, cracks, scabs, folds or other harmful surface defects.

6. Chemical Composition (Melting Analysis, Mass Fraction %)
C≤0.25, Si≤0.80, Mn≤1.60, P≤0.045, S≤0.045, Carbon Equivalent Ceq≤0.55. It ensures excellent weldability and cold bending toughness to avoid brittle fracture.
7. Production Process Flow
Ironmaking in blast furnace → Steelmaking via converter / electric furnace → Continuous casting steel billet → Steel billet heating (above 1100℃) → Rough rolling → Intermediate rolling → Finish rolling for rib forming → Controlled cooling / natural cooling → Fixed-length cutting → Surface marking printing → Bundling & packaging → Physical and chemical sampling inspection → Warehousing & delivery
8. Surface Marking Specifications
Permanent rolled marks on steel bar surface: Grade number + manufacturer logo + diameter
HRB335 marked as "3", HRB400 marked as "4", HRB500 marked as "5"; letter E for seismic grade marked separately on metal tag.
Coiled bars below Φ10 cannot be printed with marks. A metal tag is attached to each coil, indicating grade, specification, heat batch number, weight and applicable standard.
A product quality certificate is attached to each bundle, including heat number, mechanical test data, composition report and production date.
9. Packaging & Delivery (Domestic & Foreign Trade General Standard)
Straight bar bundling: Standard 12m bundle weight approx. 2 tons, fastened by 6 double iron wires with tight bundling to prevent loose packages; customized small bundles of 1~4 tons for container loading are available.
Coiled bar packaging: Coils bound with steel wire, simply wrapped with rainproof plastic film.
Upgraded export packaging: Reinforced steel strip, moisture-proof film, end protection to resist sea transportation humidity; U-shaped container binding can be customized.
Delivery cycle: 5-7 days, shipped from Tianjin Port / Qingdao Port; full truck load and container bulk cargo transportation supported.

12. Quality Acceptance Standards
A quality certificate accompanies each batch of goods. Mandatory inspection items upon arrival:
Tensile test: Yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, strength-yield ratio (for seismic steel bars)
Cold bending test: No cracks or delamination after 180° bending
Visual inspection of appearance & dimension: Diameter, rib height, length and surface defects
Weighing inspection: Deviation between theoretical weight and actual weight complies with national standard tolerance.
