1. Product Overview
Steel sheet piles (also known as Larsen sheet piles) are hot-rolled or cold-formed steel components with special interlocking clutches on both edges. Each single pile interlocks tightly with adjacent ones to form a continuous watertight retaining wall for soil and water blocking. They serve as core supporting and anti-seepage materials in civil engineering, water conservancy and port projects, applicable to both temporary construction enclosures and permanent hydraulic structures. Production complies with national standards GB/T 20933-2021 Hot-Rolled Steel Sheet Piles and JG/T 196-2018 Steel Sheet Piles.

2.1 Classified by Manufacturing Process
(1) Hot-Rolled Steel Sheet Piles (Mainstream for Engineering, Larsen Piles)
Formed under high-temperature rolling with integrated clutches, featuring high assembly precision and excellent water sealing performance. Stable mechanical section properties deliver outstanding bending resistance against earth pressure, and they can be driven, extracted and reused repeatedly. Ideal for deep foundation pits, deep-water cofferdams and permanent quay walls with strict anti-seepage requirements.
Thickness: 10.5mm ~ 22mm
Standard lengths: 6m/9m/12m, customized maximum length up to 15m
Advantages: Clutches prevent sand and water leakage, resist deformation when driven into hard soil layers, long service life
(2) Cold-Formed Steel Sheet Piles
Rolled at normal temperature from thin steel plates with lower cost and flexible length customization. Drawbacks include wide clutch gaps leading to poor water tightness, and high risk of cracking for thick plates. Only suitable for shallow foundation trenches and short-term simple temporary support.
Thickness: 8mm ~ 14mm
Application: Small trenches and shallow earth temporary retaining walls

(1) U-Type Steel Sheet Piles (Most Widely Used in China)
U-shaped cross-section with symmetrical central clutches, low driving resistance and flexible assembly, complete full-size specifications for both temporary and permanent works.

(2) Z-Type Steel Sheet Piles
Z-shaped cross-section with outward flanges, much higher section modulus and bending capacity than U-type piles of the same width. Wider single-panel coverage improves construction efficiency, with clutches at two ends. Suitable for deep water under high hydraulic pressure and heavy permanent retaining walls.
Typical models: PZ28, PZ35, PZ40
Application: Seaports, cross-sea cofferdams, high-fill permanent retaining walls
(3) Straight (Flat) Steel Sheet Piles
Flat plate surface with prominent clutch tensile performance, not optimized for bending resistance. Mainly used for circular cofferdams, honeycomb composite walls and anti-seepage curtains.
(4) Composite Steel Sheet Piles (H-Beam + Steel Sheet Pile)
Super-rigid composite walls bearing ultra-high lateral loads, exclusively applied to large ports and offshore wind power foundation marine projects.
3. Steel Grades & Mechanical Properties
3.1 Common Steel Grades
Q235B: Ordinary carbon steel, yield strength ≥235MPa. General choice for shallow foundation pits under normal temperature and short-term temporary projects with high cost performance.
Q355B/Q355NL: Low-alloy high-strength steel, yield strength ≥355MPa. Preferred for deep foundation pits, river projects and construction in low-temperature environments.
Q420P: High-strength special steel for hydraulic works, yield strength ≥420MPa. For deep-water docks, permanent cofferdams and projects in frigid regions.

Elongation after fracture ≥19%, excellent toughness to avoid brittle fracture during pile driving
