Color Coated Coil Product Specification

1. Product Overview

Color coated coil, also known as pre-painted steel coil, is produced by continuous roll coating process. Substrates including hot-dip galvanized, galvalume and Zn-Al-Mg steel strip go through degreasing, phosphating and passivation pretreatment, then coated with organic primer and topcoat and cured under high temperature. It integrates high mechanical strength of steel, anti-corrosion performance of metallic coating and decorative weather resistance of organic paint. The coil can be directly cut, bent and roll-formed, widely used as raw material for steel structure enclosure, home appliances and light industry.Executive standards: GB/T12754-2019, ASTM A755, EN10169.

3. Coating Structure (Topcoat layers / Backside coating layers)

2/1 (2 coats top /1 coat back, standard grade)Double-layer primer+topcoat on front side, single anti-rust primer on back; total dry film ≥20μm for top, ≥5μm for back. Standard for factory wall & regular roof panel.
2/2 (2 coats both sides, premium grade)Double primer+topcoat on both faces; top film ≥23μm, back ≥12μm. For coastal exposed roof and export orders.

4. Four Main Topcoat Systems

(1) PE Polyester (General Grade)

Dry film:20~22μm; weather resistance:5~10 years; pencil hardness ≥HAdvantages: Excellent bending performance, no easy paint cracking, competitive cost. Shortage: mediocre UV resistance.Application: Inland factory wall, temporary steel structure, indoor home appliance casing, hoarding.

(2) SMP Silicon Modified Polyester

Dry film:20~23μm; weather resistance:10~15 years; good stain resistance & heat resistance.Application: Commercial buildings, factory roof & mild industrial area exposed panels.

(3) HDP High Durability Polyester

Dry film:22~25μm; weather resistance:15~20 years; outstanding anti-UV & anti-chalking performance.Application: Open-air warehouse, strong sunshine area, medium corrosive factory and export construction projects.

(4) PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluoride (High-end Grade)

Dry film ≥23μm; weather resistance:20~25 years; superior acid/alkali/salt resistance & self-cleaning property.Application: Seaside construction, chemical plant, landmark public building and high-grade curtain wall.

Optional special coating: Self-clean HPC coating, anti-bacterial coating, anti-static coating, printed & embossed pre-painted steel.

5. Regular Dimension Specification (Slitting & customized size available)

Thickness (base steel thickness excluding paint film): 0.18~1.5mm standard, customized 0.12~3.0mm;0.35/0.4/0.45/0.5mm for roof sheet; 0.3~0.6mm for wall panel; 0.6~1.2mm for high-strength corrugated sheet.
Width: regular stock 1000mm,1200mm,1250mm; slittable into 750mm,914mm narrow strip.
Coil parameter: inner diameter 508mm/610mm; single coil weight 3~6MT, max customized 10MT; available for cut-to-length flat sheet.
Standard RAL color: Ocean Blue, Off-white Grey, Brick Red, Crimson, Ivory White, Dark Grey; full RAL color customization available.

6. Physical Performance

Bending property: DX51D substrate achieves 180° T-bend without paint cracking & peeling, suitable for roll forming, bending and punching.
Neutral salt spray resistance: PE≥500h, SMP≥800h, HDP≥1200h, PVDF≥2000h.
Gloss (60°): High gloss 80~90°, medium gloss30~50°, matte 5~15°, custom matte finish available.
Heat resistance: regular coating short-term resistant ≤120℃; PVDF up to 180℃ without discoloration.

7. Application Fields

Construction (largest consumption): Roof & wall sheet of steel structure workshop, warehouse, prefab house, hoarding, PV support panel, steel enclosure system.
Home Appliance: Refrigerator side panel, air conditioner casing, washing machine shell, electric cabinet (usually GI substrate).
Light Industry & Transportation: Truck carriage, container inner lining, security door, ventilation duct, storage rack.
Advertisement & Decoration: Outdoor billboard, exterior cladding, wood-grain printed ceiling.

8. Production Flow

Uncoiling → Alkali degreasing → Water rinsing → Phosphating & passivation → Primer coating → High-temperature curing → Topcoat coating → Secondary baking → Cooling & film lamination → Online inspection → Coil winding & packing → Warehousing.

9. Packing & Delivery Terms

Packing: Waterproof kraft paper + PE wrapping film + iron edge protector for full sealed package, moisture & collision proof.
Lead time: In-stock items deliver within 3~7 working days; special color/coating customized order 7~15 working days. Services: full coil delivery, longitudinal slitting, cut-to-length flat processing.
Quality warranty: 5 years for PE (inland),10 years for SMP,15 years for HDP,20 years for PVDF under normal service environment; exclude artificial damage & strong acid/alkali immersion.
