1. Executive Standards & Application Scope
National Standard: GB/T 5310-2023 Seamless Steel Tubes for High Pressure Boiler
International Equivalent Standards: ASTM A335, DIN 17175, JIS G3467
Application: Superheaters, reheaters, water wall tubes, economizers, main steam pipes and connecting pipes of high-pressure, super-high-pressure, subcritical, supercritical and ultra-supercritical boilers. Suitable for working conditions with temperature up to 650℃ and pressure up to 35MPa.
2. Material Grades & Main Chemical Compositions
2.1 Quality Carbon Steel
20G: C 0.17-0.24%, Mn 0.35-0.65%. Applied to medium & high-pressure boilers below 450℃, featuring stable performance and cost efficiency.
2.2 Pearlitic Heat-resistant Alloy Steel (Mainstream Grades)
15CrMoG: Cr 0.8-1.1%, Mo 0.4-0.55%. Designed for high-pressure working conditions at ≤540℃ (10-14MPa) with excellent high-temperature creep resistance.
12Cr1MoVG: Cr 0.9-1.2%, Mo 0.25-0.35%, V 0.15-0.3%. Widely used for superheaters and reheaters of super-high-pressure & subcritical boilers within 540-570℃ (17-20MPa).
12Cr2MoWVTiB: Composite alloyed with Cr, Mo, W, V and Ti. High stress rupture strength below 600℃, ideal for subcritical boilers.
2.3 Martensitic Heat-resistant Alloy Steel (High-parameter Units)
10Cr9MoW2VNb (P91): Cr 8.0-9.5%, Mo 0.85-1.05%, micro-alloyed with W, V and Nb. Preferred for main steam pipes of supercritical units at 580-600℃ (24-28MPa).
P92: Cr 8.5-9.5%, W 1.5-2.0%. Outstanding creep resistance and corrosion resistance for ultra-supercritical boilers at 600-630℃.
3. Dimension Parameters
Outer Diameter: Φ16mm ~ Φ219mm (Common sizes: Φ38, 42, 51, 60, 76, 89, 108, 133, 159, 219mm)
Wall Thickness: 2.0mm ~ 40.0mm (Common sizes: 3.5, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20mm)
Length: Standard fixed lengths 6m, 9m, 12m; customized lengths available.
Dimensional Tolerance: Outer diameter ±1%; Hot rolled tube wall thickness ±10%, Cold drawn tube wall thickness ±8%; Ovality ≤1.2%.
4. Manufacturing Process
Smelting: Electric furnace + Ladle Furnace + Vacuum Degassing (LF+VD). Strict control: S ≤0.015%, P ≤0.025%, Hydrogen ≤2ppm, Oxygen ≤20ppm.
Forming: Hot rolling or cold drawing. Hot rolling for general sizes; cold drawing for high-precision thin-wall tubes.
Heat Treatment (Critical Process)
20G: Normalizing (900-930℃, air cooling)
15CrMoG / 12Cr1MoVG: Normalizing + Tempering (Normalizing: 950-980℃; Tempering: 720-760℃)
P91 / P92: Quenching + Tempering (Quenching: 1040-1080℃; Tempering: 750-780℃)
Finishing: Straightening, non-destructive testing, cutting, chamfering and anti-rust treatment.
5. Mechanical & High-temperature Properties
5.1 Room-temperature Mechanical Properties

5.2 High-temperature Performance
Stress Rupture Strength: 12Cr1MoVG ≥275MPa at 570℃ for 100,000 hours; P91 ≥140MPa at 600℃ for 100,000 hours.
Oxidation Resistance: No obvious oxidation and peeling in flue gas and steam environment at 550-600℃.
Microstructure Stability: No pearlite spheroidization or carbide aggregation after long-term high-temperature service.
6. Quality Inspection
Chemical Composition Analysis: Spectroscopic & chemical analysis for each heat batch.
Mechanical Test: Tensile, impact and hardness tests by batch sampling.
Process Performance Test: Flattening, bending and flaring tests.
Mandatory Non-destructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing (UT) + Eddy Current Testing (ET). Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) applied for high-alloy grades such as P91. Defect detection sensitivity: Φ1.6mm.
Surface Inspection: Free from cracks, folds, scabs, heavy scale, internal rust and foreign matters.
Dimensional Inspection: Full inspection of outer diameter, wall thickness and length.
7. Product Features & Advantages
Excellent High Temperature & High Pressure Resistance: Adapt to extreme working conditions of 450-650℃ and 10-35MPa, no deformation or rupture during long-term operation.
Superior Creep Resistance: Resist plastic deformation under continuous high temperature. Design service life over 100,000 hours.

8. Packaging, Marking & Delivery
Packaging: Bundled (each bundle ≤ 2 tons), pipe ends sealed for moisture-proof and anti-rust.
Marking: Permanent marking on each tube, including standard number, material grade, dimension, heat number, manufacturer and production date.
Mill Certificate: Provided together with goods, covering chemical composition, mechanical properties, NDT reports and heat treatment records for full traceability.

Power Industry: Thermal power plant boilers (600MW, 1000MW units) of high-pressure to ultra-supercritical types.
