1. Mandatory testing standards (specific for pet water dispensers)
1) Safety (KC 60335)
* KC 60335-1: General Safety for Household Appliances
* KC 60335-2-71: Dedicated for pet drinking/feeding equipment (core)
II. Test items:
* Insulation resistance, withstand voltage ≥2500V, leakage current
* Temperature rise, IPX4 waterproof
* Electric shock protection, structure/sharp edges, and pump stall protection
2）EMC
* EN 55014-1 / KC 61000-6-3: Radiated / Conducted Disturbance
* EN 55014-2 / KC 61000-6-1: Immunity
* Harmonics / Flicker: EN 61000-3-2 / -3
3) Smart model (Wi-Fi / Bluetooth) additional: KCC (RF+EMC)
* Attributed to RRA (Radio Research Agency of Korea)
* Standards: ETSI EN 300 328, EN 301 489
* The industry is still called KCC, and the certificate bears an R-xxx number
III. Handling methods (2 options, with most opting for the second one)
Method A: Direct KC (without CB)
* Sample: 2-3 complete machines + adapters + key components
* Cycle: 6–8 weeks
Method B: First do CB → then switch to KC (strongly recommended)
* CB Standard: IEC 60335-1 / IEC 60335-2-71
* Convert CB report + certificate to KC:
* Cycle: 2–3 weeks
* Advantages: cost-effective, time-saving, and capable of converting to CE / Australian SAA, etc
