Cast Steel Pipe Product Detailed Description
1. Product Definition
Cast steel pipes (commonly known as centrifugal cast pipes) are seamless pipes formed by pouring molten steel into a high-speed rotating mold. The molten steel adheres evenly to the mold wall and solidifies under centrifugal force. Different from welded pipes and forged pipes, they feature dense structure, no weld seam, and can be directly cast into large-diameter, thick-walled and high-alloy materials, suitable for harsh working conditions of high temperature, high pressure and corrosion resistance.
2. Production Process (Centrifugal Casting)
Batching and Smelting: Prepare materials according to the formula of carbon steel / alloy steel / heat-resistant steel, melt in electric furnace at 1500–1600℃, refine to remove gas and slag.
High-speed Centrifugal Pouring: Pour molten steel into rotating mold with a speed of 800–1500 r/min; centrifugal force distributes molten steel evenly for layered solidification.
Cooling and Shaping: Adopt water cooling or air cooling outside the mold to control cooling rate and avoid cracks and white structure.
Heat Treatment: Normalizing / Annealing / Solution treatment to eliminate internal stress, refine grain structure and improve toughness and fatigue resistance.
Finishing and Inspection: Cutting end trimming, internal and external surface grinding, non-destructive testing (UT/MT/RT), dimension inspection and hydraulic pressure test.
3. Material Grade
Carbon Steel: Q235, 20#, 35#, 45# — For general structure and low-pressure fluid transmission.
Low Alloy Steel: 16Mn, Q355, Cr5Mo — For medium temperature, medium pressure and anti-corrosion occasions.
Heat-resistant Steel (High-temperature Furnace Tube):
ZG40Cr25Ni20Si2 (HK40): Service temperature 850–1100℃, applied to ethylene cracking furnace and heating furnace tube.
ZG8Cr26Ni4Mn3NRe: Service temperature 600–900℃, used for boiler and waste incinerator, with wear resistance and sulfur resistance.
Stainless Steel / Duplex Steel: 304, 316L, 2205 — For strong corrosive media such as acid, alkali and seawater.

5. Core Performance Characteristics
Dense Structure & Weld-free: Centrifugal force removes slag and gas, few pores and shrinkage porosity, with high pressure resistance up to 10–30 MPa.
High Temperature Resistance & Creep Resistance: Heat-resistant steel can serve long-term at 850–1200℃, with thermal fatigue resistance and non-deformation.
Corrosion & Wear Resistance: High content of chromium, nickel and nitrogen improve anti-sulfuration, oxidation resistance and erosion resistance.
Flexible Size & Cost-effective: More economical than forged pipes for large-diameter and thick-walled products; can be directly cast into special-shaped parts such as radiant tubes and headers.

7. Technical Advantage Comparison
Vs Welded Pipe: No weld seam and welding defects; better performance in high temperature, high pressure and corrosion resistance, suitable for key parts such as furnace tubes.
Vs Forged Pipe: Lower cost and shorter production cycle for large-diameter and thick-walled products; can be cast into complex shapes directly (U-shaped pipe, header, etc.).

Chemical Composition: Spectrum analysis, comply with material standards.
Mechanical Properties: Tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and impact toughness.
Non-destructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT).
Hydraulic Pressure Test: Keep pressure at 1.5 times of design pressure without leakage.
Surface Quality: No cracks, pores or slag inclusion on internal and external surfaces; surface roughness meets standard requirements.
9. Installation & Maintenance

Welding Requirement: Adopt matching welding material; preheat and slow cool to avoid cracks.
