Steel wire is a coiled steel product made from hot-rolled wire rod through cold drawing, warm drawing or cold rolling. It is one of the four major steel varieties (plate, pipe, section, wire), featuring high strength, good toughness and diverse specifications, and is widely used in industrial, construction, civilian and other fields. Steel wire is mainly processed from high-quality carbon steel, alloy steel hot-rolled wire rods. Different materials correspond to clear models, and the core chemical composition, material models and contents are as follows:

III. Production Process (Supplementary Process Control Related to Size and Material)
Raw Material Selection: Select hot-rolled wire rods that meet the standards, check the chemical composition and mechanical properties, and select the corresponding wire rods according to the final product material model and size (e.g., fine steel wire selects fine-diameter wire rods);
Descaling Treatment: Chemical pickling or mechanical grinding to remove the oxide scale on the surface of the wire rod, avoid damaging the mold, and ensure the accuracy of subsequent drawing dimensions;
Coating and Drying: Coat the surface with lubricant carriers such as lime and phosphating solution, and dry at a low temperature of 150-250℃ to remove moisture and hydrogen, prevent hydrogen embrittlement, especially suitable for high-strength and fine-diameter steel wire;
Heat Treatment: Raw material/intermediate/finished product heat treatment to improve the structure, eliminate internal stress, restore plasticity, and adapt to drawing requirements. The heat treatment temperature and time are different for different material models (such as alloy steel);
Wire Drawing: Cold drawing through wire drawing dies for multiple passes at room temperature to gradually reduce the diameter and improve strength. The pass area reduction rate is 10%-40%, and the number of drawing passes is adjusted according to the final size (more passes for fine steel wire);
Plating/Rubber Coating: Perform galvanizing, copper plating or rubber coating treatment as needed to improve surface performance. The plating thickness and rubber coating thickness are customized according to the size and application;
Inspection and Packaging: Detect the diameter, strength, toughness and surface quality to ensure the dimensional tolerance meets the standards. After passing the inspection, package in coils and mark the specifications, material, batch number, size and length.

Tensile Strength: 300-3500MPa (customizable on demand, corresponding to different material models, e.g., Q195 is about 300-390MPa, 30CrMnSiA can reach 3500MPa);
Elongation: ≥2%-≥20% (the higher the strength, the lower the elongation; the softer the material, the higher the elongation, e.g., Q235 elongation ≥20%, high-strength steel wire elongation ≥2%);
Hardness: HV 100-800 (different materials have different hardness, e.g., Q195 HV 100-150, 60Si2Mn HV 600-800);

Packaging: Bundled in coils, each coil weighs 50-500kg (the thinner the diameter, the lighter the weight of each coil; e.g., <0.5mm steel wire per coil 50-100kg, >8.0mm steel wire per coil 300-500kg). The outer layer is wrapped with moisture-proof paper and woven bags; galvanized steel wire is additionally wrapped with a protective film; special-shaped steel wire is packaged with customized pallets to avoid dimensional deformation; each coil is marked with material model, diameter, length, weight and batch number.
Storage: Store in a dry and ventilated warehouse, avoid moisture, rain, acid and alkali corrosion, keep away from high temperature and sharp objects to prevent surface damage and rust; fine-diameter and high-strength steel wire should be stored separately to avoid extrusion deformation.
