GB/T 713-2023: Steel plates for boilers and pressure vessels, covering carbon steel and low-alloy steel.
GB/T 3531-2019: Low-alloy steel plates for low-temperature pressure vessels.

2. Main Grades & Materials
Carbon Steel Pressure Vessel Plate (Medium & Low Temperature, Low Pressure)
Q245R: Basic carbon steel with yield strength ≥245MPa. Applied to normal/low-pressure vessels and boiler drums, service temperature ≤350℃.
Low-Alloy High-Strength Pressure Vessel Plate (Medium Temperature, Medium & High Pressure)
Q345R: Most widely used grade with excellent low-temperature impact property at -20℃. Suitable for reaction kettles, storage tanks and heat exchangers, service temperature: -20℃ ~ 450℃.
Q370R / Q420R / Q460R: High-strength grades for high-pressure vessels and thick-wall spherical tanks.
Heat-Resistant Pressure Vessel Plate (High Temperature, Creep Condition)
15CrMoR / 14Cr1MoR / 12Cr2Mo1R: Cr-Mo alloy steel with high-temperature oxidation resistance and creep resistance. Used for hydrogenation reactors and high-temperature steam equipment, service temperature ≤550℃.
Low-Temperature Pressure Vessel Plate
16MnDR / 09MnNiDR: Excellent low-temperature toughness, applied to LNG storage tanks, liquid ammonia containers and low-temperature separators.
Export Common Grades
SA516Gr70(N): Main American standard grade in normalized condition, performance similar to Q345R for export projects.
3. Chemical Composition
Carbon (C): 0.12%~0.20%, balance strength and weldability.
Silicon (Si): 0.15%~0.40%, strengthen matrix and anti-oxidation.
Manganese (Mn): 0.80%~1.70%, grain refinement and improve low-temperature toughness.
Phosphorus & Sulfur (P/S): ≤0.025% with strict control to reduce brittleness and cracking risk.
Alloy Elements: Cr/Mo/Ni added as required to improve heat resistance, low-temperature performance and corrosion resistance.

Normalized (N): Most common, uniform grain and stable toughness, suitable for low temperature and thick plate.
Hot Rolled / TMCP: Cost-effective for medium temperature and thin plate.
Normalized & Tempered / Quenched & Tempered: High strength and toughness for high-pressure and thick-wall vessels.
6. Core Characteristics
High strength: Yield strength 245~460MPa, suitable for medium and high pressure working conditions.
Excellent toughness: Low-temperature impact energy ≥34J, prevent brittle fracture.
Good weldability: Low carbon equivalent and low impurity, no preheating required for partial grades.
Wide temperature resistance range: -196℃ (low-temperature steel) ~ 550℃ (heat-resistant steel).
High flaw detection grade: UT Grade Ⅱ and above, no internal lamination or crack.
