Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance.
Socket Welding Union Introduction
A socket weld union is a high-pressure, leak-resistant pipe fitting designed to connect two pipes in small-bore piping systems (typically NPS 2 or smaller). It consists of three parts (nut, female end, male end) and allows for easy, non-destructive disassembly. The pipe is inserted into the socket, then fillet-welded.The ends have a socket (a recessed area) into which the pipe is inserted before being fillet-welded, allowing for a flush fit that ensures alignment and structural integrity.

Product Pricessing
1. Fabrication: Manufactured in various materials including carbon steel (A105), stainless steel (304/316), and alloys like Monel or Hastelloy.
2. Connection Process: The pipe is inserted into the female socket, creating a tight, aligned connection before welding.
3. Union Structure: Consists of three parts—two ends (male/female) welded to pipes and a large nut that connects them, allowing easy disconnection later.
4. Weld Type: A fillet seal weld is applied to the edge of the socket, providing superior strength compared to threaded joints.
5. Standards: Commonly made to ASME B16.11 for dimensions and MSS SP-83 for pressure ratings.
6. Gap Management: An expansion gap ($approx$1.5 mm) is usually left between the pipe end and the socket base to prevent cracking from thermal expansion, often required by standards.
