I. Product Overview

Angle steel, also known as angle iron, is a hot-rolled section with an "L" shaped cross-section. It is divided into two categories: equal-angle steel and unequal-angle steel, consisting of two mutually perpendicular legs with uniform thickness and standard angle (usually 90°). As a highly versatile section, angle steel has the characteristics of simple structure, convenient processing, stable load-bearing capacity and high cost performance. It can be directly used for splicing, supporting and fixing without complex processing, and is widely applied in many fields such as construction, machinery, infrastructure, electric power and chemical industry. It is an indispensable basic component in various steel structure projects. III. Material Grades, Chemical Composition and Mechanical Properties

(I) Main Material Grades

The commonly used materials of angle steel are mainly low-carbon steel and low-alloy steel, which adapt to different strength requirements. The main grades and application scenarios are as follows:

  • Q235B: The most commonly used general material, with good plasticity, toughness and excellent welding performance, moderate cost. It is suitable for non-load-bearing or secondary load-bearing scenarios such as ordinary buildings, supports and frames.

  • Q355B: High-strength material, whose yield strength and tensile strength are significantly higher than Q235B. It has low temperature resistance and impact resistance, and is suitable for high load-bearing scenarios such as heavy-duty structures, long-span supports and outdoor infrastructure.

  • Q355C/D: The low-temperature toughness is improved on the basis of Q355B, which is suitable for cold areas, outdoor environments or projects with strict toughness requirements (such as bridges and port facilities).

  • Q195/Q215: Low-carbon materials with low strength, mainly used for scenarios with low strength requirements such as light supports, railings and hardware processing, with prominent cost performance.

IV. Product Classification and Specifications

(I) Product Classification

  • Classified by leg size: Divided into equal-angle steel and unequal-angle steel.

  • Equal-angle steel: The two legs have the same length (e.g., ∠50×50×5), which is the most widely used and suitable for various symmetric structures, supports and frames.

  • Unequal-angle steel: The two legs have different lengths (e.g., ∠50×32×5), with matching long and short legs, suitable for structures with uneven stress, special-shaped supports and connectors.

Classified by production process: Hot-rolled angle steel (mainstream), cold-formed angle steel (niche, suitable for small-scale and high-precision scenarios).

Classified by surface treatment: Hot-rolled original angle steel, hot-dip galvanized angle steel, painted angle steel, adapting to different corrosive environments.

(II) Specification Expression Method

  • Equal-angle steel: ∠ Leg Width × Leg Width × Leg Thickness (mm), Example: ∠30×30×3, ∠50×50×5, ∠100×100×10.

  • Unequal-angle steel: ∠ Long Leg Width × Short Leg Width × Leg Thickness (mm), Example: ∠50×32×4, ∠80×50×6, ∠125×80×8.

(III) Routine Specification Range

  • Equal-angle steel: Leg width 20mm-200mm, leg thickness 3mm-20mm, conventional length 6m, 9m, 12m, customizable length 3-18m.

  • Unequal-angle steel: Long leg width 32mm-200mm, short leg width 20mm-125mm, leg thickness 3mm-18mm, conventional length 6m, 9m, 12m, customizable processing.

Note: Special specifications (extra-large leg width, extra-thick leg thickness) can be customized, and deep processing such as cutting, punching and beveling is supported.

VII. Surface Treatment Methods

  • Hot-rolled original: Basic anti-rust treatment, surface sprayed with anti-rust oil, low cost, suitable for indoor dry environments and non-corrosive scenarios (such as indoor supports, warehousing shelves).

  • Hot-dip galvanizing: Immerse the angle steel in molten zinc to form a uniform zinc layer (zinc layer thickness ≥85μm), with excellent corrosion resistance, moisture resistance and strong corrosion resistance. It is suitable for outdoor, coastal and humid environments, with a service life of more than 20 years.

  • Painting treatment: Epoxy zinc-rich primer + anti-corrosion topcoat is adopted, and the color can be customized (such as gray, blue), which has both anti-corrosion and aesthetic properties, suitable for scenarios with high appearance requirements (such as building curtain walls, indoor decoration supports).

VIII. Packaging, Delivery and Logistics
