Steel Wire Product Detailed Description
1. Product Overview
Steel wire is a filamentous steel product processed from high-quality steel raw materials through multiple precision processes such as cold drawing, heat treatment and surface treatment. It features high strength, good toughness, excellent plasticity, corrosion resistance and easy processing, making it an indispensable basic metal material in industrial production, construction, manufacturing, agriculture and other fields. 2. Product Classification & Material Specifications
2.1 Classification by Material
1. Low Carbon Steel Wire
Produced from low-carbon steel raw materials such as Q195, Q235, Q215 with carbon content ≤0.25%. It features soft texture, good ductility, easy bending, excellent weldability and moderate cost, widely used as general-purpose steel wire.
2. High Carbon Steel Wire
With carbon content ranging from 0.45% to 0.8%, it obtains high tensile strength, high hardness, excellent elasticity and good wear resistance through quenching, tempering and other heat treatment processes, suitable for applications requiring high strength and elasticity.
3. Alloy Steel Wire
Including manganese steel wire, silicon-manganese steel wire and other special alloy materials, with high temperature resistance, high strength and special mechanical properties, suitable for special industrial working conditions.
2.2 Classification by Surface Treatment
1. Galvanized Steel Wire
Divided into hot-dip galvanized steel wire and electro-galvanized steel wire. Hot-dip galvanized features thick zinc coating, strong adhesion and long anti-rust life; electro-galvanized features uniform zinc layer, smooth surface and high appearance, effectively isolating air and moisture to prevent rust and corrosion.
2. Black Iron Wire (Annealed Wire)
Without galvanized coating, softened by high-temperature annealing, with original metal color, extremely high flexibility, convenient for binding and bending, economical and practical.
3. PVC Coated Steel Wire
Coated with PVC/PE plastic layer outside the steel wire, greatly improving insulation, corrosion resistance and aging resistance. With various colors and long service life, it is suitable for outdoor and insulation scenarios.
4. Phosphated Steel Wire / Copper Coated Steel Wire
Surface treated by phosphating or copper plating, with excellent lubricity, wear resistance and adhesion, convenient for subsequent drawing, weaving and welding, widely used in high-end manufacturing and deep processing of steel wire.
5. Bright Steel Wire
Without extra coating on the surface, with high finish and precise size, suitable for processing with high requirements on surface appearance and accuracy.

1. Diameter Range: Conventional 0.2mm–10mm, customized 0.1mm–20mm available upon request;
2. Tensile Strength: 300MPa–550MPa for low carbon steel wire, 800MPa–2200MPa for high carbon steel wire, customizable grades;
3. Length Form: Coiled (5kg–1000kg per coil), straight cut (1m–12m fixed length), non-standard length customizable;
4. Zinc Coating Weight: Hot-dip galvanized 80g/㎡–300g/㎡, electro-galvanized 10g/㎡–50g/㎡;
5. Standards: GB/T 343-2018, ASTM A475, JIS G3547, EN 10264 etc.

2. Marking: Each coil / bag marked with specification, material, net weight, gross weight, manufacturer, standard, etc.;
3. Transport & Storage: Suitable for road, railway, sea and air transport. Store in dry and ventilated place, avoid open-air stacking and contact with corrosive substances.
7. Precautions
1. Choose appropriate material, specification and surface treatment according to actual application to ensure performance matching;
2. Take protection during handling and processing to avoid scratching;
3. For long-term outdoor use, hot-dip galvanized or PVC coated steel wire is recommended to extend service life;
