Product Overview
Steel strand is made from high-carbon steel wire rod through drawing, twisting, and stabilization treatment. It is mainly used in various engineering fields such as prestressed concrete, bridges, buildings, power lines, mining, and water conservancy. The product features high strength, low relaxation, corrosion resistance, and easy construction. It conforms to various general industry standards, is suitable for a variety of complex engineering scenarios, and is safe and reliable.
Material and Standards
1. Material Type: High-carbon steel 82B (Core type, suitable for most engineering scenarios; custom material types can be provided according to specific requirements)
2. Standards: GB/T 5224 (Chinese National Standard), ASTM A416 (American Standard), BS 5896 (British Standard), EN 10138 (European Standard). Production strictly adheres to standards to ensure product quality meets requirements.
Material Chemical Composition (82B High Carbon Steel)
Made with high-quality 82B high carbon steel wire rod, the chemical composition meets national standards. The content of each element is precisely controlled to ensure product strength and toughness. Specific components are as follows:
- Carbon (C): 0.78%-0.85% (A core element determining steel strength; precise content control prevents excessive brittleness or insufficient strength)
- Silicon (Si): 0.15%-0.35% (Improves steel toughness and wear resistance, optimizes processing performance)
- Manganese (Mn): 0.60%-0.90% (Enhances steel hardness and tensile strength, improves hardenability)
- Phosphorus (P): ≤0.035% (Strictly controls impurity content to avoid reducing steel toughness and prevent brittle fracture)
- Sulfur (S): ≤0.035% (Reduces internal defects in steel, improves fatigue resistance, and ensures long-term safety)
- Chromium (Cr): ≤0.20% (Auxiliary to improve corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor humid environments)
Mechanical Properties
The product boasts excellent mechanical properties. After rigorous testing, all indicators meet industry standards. Specific parameters are as follows:
1. Tensile Strength: Standard 1860MPa, customizable to 1770MPa and 1960MPa (adaptable to different engineering stress requirements, stable tensile performance)
2. Yield Strength: ≥1570MPa (1860MPa level), stable yield point, not easily deformed under stress
3. Relaxation Performance: Low relaxation (20℃, 1000 hours, initial stress at 70% nominal tensile strength, relaxation rate ≤2.5%), small deformation over long-term use, strong structural stability
4. Elongation: ≥3.5% (Elongation after fracture, reflecting the steel's toughness, avoiding brittle fracture, ensuring construction and use safety)
5. Bending Performance: When the bending radius is 12 times the diameter of the steel strand, there are no cracks or breaks after bending, facilitating construction and threading.
6. Breaking Tensile Strength: Varies depending on the diameter. A standard 15.24mm steel strand has a breaking tensile strength ≥260kN, demonstrating strong load-bearing capacity and meeting the needs of large-scale projects.
Structural Specifications
Common structures are 1×7 (7 strands) and 1×19 (19 strands). Standard diameters include 9.53mm, 12.7mm, 15.24mm, 17.8mm, and 21.6mm. The standard tensile strength is 1860MPa, but 1770MPa and 1960MPa can be customized upon request. The relaxation level is low relaxation, with high dimensional accuracy and uniform lay.
Surface Treatment
Products include smooth steel strand, hot-dip galvanized steel strand, electro-galvanized steel strand, epoxy-coated steel strand, and unbonded steel strand with an HDPE sheath. Appropriate surface treatments can be selected based on the application environment to improve corrosion resistance. Product Performance Characteristics

Application Areas
Suitable for the construction of prestressed concrete bridges, box girders, track beams, high-rise buildings, large factories, water conservancy dams, tunnels, and other engineering projects. It can be used for power and communication tower guy wires, overhead ground wires, mine anchoring, slope protection, foundation pit anchors, and is also widely used in port terminals, marine engineering, hoisting and traction operations.
Packaging and Delivery
Products are bundled with steel straps and wrapped in a moisture-proof film, then packaged with wooden or iron axles to prevent moisture and damage during transportation. Standard axle lengths are 1000 meters or 2000 meters, but custom lengths are available upon request. Delivery is 5-7 days after order confirmation to ensure timely delivery and avoid delays in construction.

All products undergo tensile testing, relaxation testing, and dimensional inspection before leaving the factory. Each batch of products comes with a material certificate and relevant test reports to ensure product quality meets standards and give customers peace of mind.
