In cross roller bearings, since the cylindrical rollers are arranged perpendicularly to each other on the rolling surfaces of the V-shaped grooves through the spaced retainers, they can withstand all kinds of loads in various directions, including radial loads, axial loads, and torque loads. The dimensions of the inner and outer rings are minimally reduced, and the thin type is close to the limit of small size, with high rigidity. Therefore, it is suitable for applications in industrial robots' joints or rotating parts, rotating worktables of machining centers, rotating parts of mechanical hands, precision rotating worktables, medical machines, measuring instruments, IC manufacturing devices, etc.

Cross roller bearings are designed such that the inner or outer ring that is divided is fixed with the cross roller raceway after the rollers and spacer retainers are installed, to prevent them from separating from each other. Therefore, the installation of the cross roller raceway is very simple. Since the rollers are arranged in a cross pattern, only one set of cross roller raceways is needed to bear loads in all directions. Compared with traditional models, the rigidity is increased by 3 to 4 times. At the same time, because the inner or outer ring of the cross roller bearing is constructed in a two-segmented manner, the bearing clearance can be adjusted. Even when a preload is applied, high-precision rotational motion can be achieved.

The internal structure of the cross roller bearing features rollers arranged perpendicularly and at a 90° angle to each other.

Between the rollers, there are spacer retainers or isolation blocks, which can prevent the rollers from tilting and rubbing against each other. This helps prevent an increase in the rotational torque. Moreover, there will be no phenomenon of direct contact between the rollers or locking. At the same time, because the inner and outer rings are of a separated structure, the gap can be adjusted. Even if pre-pressure is applied, high-precision rotational motion can still be achieved.

2. Simplified operation and installation process

The outer ring or inner ring that has been divided into two parts is fixed in place after the rollers and retainers are inserted. Therefore, the installation process is very simple.
