Hastelloy® B-2 is a classic nickel‑molybdenum alloy specially designed for excellent corrosion resistance in severely reducing environments. With a high molybdenum content, it provides outstanding performance in pure hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, and other aggressive media across a wide range of temperatures and concentrations.
This alloy exhibits excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion in chloride‑containing environments. It also features good mechanical properties at both room and moderately elevated temperatures, along with stable weldability and fabricability for industrial processing.
Hastelloy® B-2 is widely used in chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, and pollution control industries, serving in key components such as reactors, heat exchangers, pipes, valves, tanks, and pumps. It remains a reliable and cost‑effective material choice for equipment exposed to harsh reducing corrosive conditions.
