Applications of PTFE Micropowder PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)
1. Lubrication Industry
Lubricant Additive: Mixed into oils, greases, or dry lubricants to reduce friction and wear in mechanical components (e.g., bearings, gears, sliding parts). It forms a protective film on surfaces, ensuring smooth operation even under high loads or extreme temperatures (-200°C to 260°C).
Release Agent: Used in mold release formulations for plastics, rubber, and composites. It prevents molded parts from sticking to molds, simplifying demolding and maintaining part integrity.
2. Polymer & Plastic Modification
Plastic Toughening & Lubrication: Blended with thermoplastics (e.g., PP, PE, PA) or thermosets (e.g., epoxy resins) to improve their wear resistance, impact strength, and processability. It also reduces melt viscosity, making extrusion or injection molding easier.
Coating Modification: Added to industrial coatings (e.g., acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane coatings) to enhance slip properties, scratch resistance, and chemical resistance. Common in cookware coatings, industrial equipment finishes, and automotive coatings.
3. Textile & Fiber Industry
