Principle of ultrasonic welding: Via an ultrasonic generator, 50/60 Hz current is converted 15, 20, 35 or 40 kHz electrical power. The converted high frequency electrical power is turned into mechanical movement of the same frequency via aducer, and then the mechanical movement is transmitted to the welding head via a set of devices that can change the amplitude. The welding head transmits the received vibration energy to the of the workpiece to be welded. In this area, the vibration energy is converted into thermal energy through friction, which melts the plastic. Ultrasonic can not only be used to weld hard thermoplastics, but also can be used to process fabrics and films. The main components of an ultrasonic welding system include an ultrasonic generator, a transducer/amplitude adjuster/welding head trio, a mold, and a frame.
