The module receives the input signal from the proximity probe or magnetic pickup and converts the signal into a digital Keyphasor signal, indicating when the Keyphasor mark on the axis coincides with the Keyphasor sensor. The 3500 mechanical protection system can accept up to 4 Keyphasor signals in a normal configuration and up to 8 Keyphasor signals in a paired configuration. Note: Keyphasor signals are one or multiple event pulses per turn from a rotating shaft or gear and are used to provide accurate timing measurements. This allows 3,500 monitoring modules and external diagnostic equipment to measure the shaft's rotational speed and vector parameters, such as 1x vibration amplitude and phase. The Enhanced Keyphasor module is an improved 3500 system module. It provides extended Keyphasor signal processing capabilities compared to previous designs, while maintaining full backward compatibility with existing Keyphasor modules in terms of form, fit, and functionality for use in legacy systems. When Triple modular redundancy (TMR) applications require system Keyphasor inputs, the 3500 system should adopt two Keyphasor modules. In this configuration, modules work in parallel, providing primary and secondary Keyphasor signals to other modules in the rack. Systems with more than four Keyphasor inputs can use a paired configuration, provided that there are no more than four primary Keyphasor input signals. The pairing configuration requires two consecutive monitoring positions in either the upper/lower or two half-slot positions. Four Keyphasor modules will accept four The main input channel and 4 alternate input channels are provided, and 4 output channels (one per module) are provided. It is also possible to configure two paired and one unpaired (a total of three Keyphasor modules). In such a configuration, the user can configure a non-paired Keyphasor (order two 2-channel or one 1-channel and one 2-channel option). Isolated Keyphasor I/O modules are designed for applications where Keyphasor signals are in parallel with multiple devices and need to be isolated from other systems, such as control systems. The isolated I/O module is designed for magnetic pickup applications, but is compatible with Proximitor* applications and provides isolation as long as an external power supply is provided. Note that the primary purpose of this I/O module is to measure axis speed, not phase. The module can provide phase measurement, but this I/O introduces a slightly higher phase shift than the non-isolated I/O version. Figure 1 shows the amount of phase shift that an isolated I/O module will increase at different machine speeds. Enhanced product features include once-per-turn event signals generated from multi-per-turn event inputs, field-upgradeable firmware, and asset management data reporting.
