PXI-5601 RF downconverter The NI PXI-5601 is an RF down-conversion converter. This model has a frequency range of 10 MHz to 6.6 GHz. The RF downconverter provides an instantaneous bandwidth of 50 MHz. The PXI-5601 is designed for use with an intermediate frequency digitizer module (NI PXI-5622) and LO source module (NI PXI-5652). These three components together form the NI PXIe-5663-RF vector signal analyzer. In NI 5663, the intermediate frequency digitizer module is installed on the right side of NI 5601, and the LO source module is installed on its left side. The RF down-converter module can be placed in any PXI Express or PXI Express Hybrid peripheral slot. The National Instruments PXI-5601 front panel connectors include RF input, RF output, LO input, and LO output. All front panel connectors are SMA female connectors designed to operate at a nominal impedance of 50 Ω and with AC coupling. To convey the status of the device, there are two leds. ACCESS leds and ACTIVE leds are also available on the front panel. ACCESS LED indicates the basic hardware status of the module. However, the ACTIVE LED provides information about the status of the module. The RF input attenuation of the PXI-5601 can be adjusted in steps of 1 dB over a range of 0 to 50 dB. The module has a 3U shape design and requires a PXI Express slot for deployment. The NI PXI-5601 can import and export triggers from the PXI trigger wire and PXI trigger bus. The downconverter consumes 640 mA and 740 mA at +3.3 VDC and -12 VDC, respectively.
