Speed sensing input: It can accommodate 12 passive pulse rate devices, four distributed in each R/S/T section. These devices are used to sense toothed wheels to accurately measure turbine speeds. Alternatively, in the TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) section, six active pulse rate inputs are used, two for each section.
Trip coil output contacts: Two output contacts, selected by TMR ballot, are provided on the board and are specified for the main circuit breaker coil trip coil. These outputs operate at 24 V DC (H1) or 125 V DC (H2), helping the main circuit breaker coil to reliably and synchronously trip under specific conditions or trigger conditions.
Voltage detection circuit: Four voltage detection circuits are integrated into the circuit board to effectively monitor the trip string. These circuits operate in the voltage range of 24-125 V DC, continuously monitoring the trip string for any deviations or anomalies that may require intervention or corrective action.
Fail-safe ESTOP input: It has a dedicated fail-safe ESTOP (Emergency Stop) input and operates in a voltage range of 24-125 V DC. This input is essential to start the power supply of the trip relay in the event of an emergency or if the turbine needs to be shut down immediately for safety reasons.
Install
Connect to I/O terminals TB1 and TB2: Components such as TTL pulse frequency pickers, voltage detection circuits, scare-stop inputs, and circuit breaker relays are connected to I/O terminals TB1. The passive pulse frequency picker is specifically connected to the TB2. Each terminal is secured with two screws and has 24 terminals capable of accepting wires up to #12 AWG. To ensure proper grounding and minimize electrical interference, the shield end strips are connected to the chassis grounding, immediately to the left of each terminal.
Configuration of the speed input connection: The desired speed input connection must be configured according to the specific requirements. This configuration involves selecting the appropriate sector for the R segment pulse rate pickers of S and T PTUR. Jumpers JP1 and JP2 are used for this purpose. These jumpers help select the sector configuration, ensuring that the pulse rate pickers are correctly distributed between the R, S, and T sections of the PTUR according to the desired Settings.
Testing and verification: After wiring and configuration, a thorough testing and verification procedure should be performed to ensure the proper function and integration of the terminal board in the system. The test shall include verification of the correct operation of components such as speed sensing inputs, voltage detection circuits, scram functions, and circuit breaker relay operation.
