Advanced data link control/fieldbus compatibility
Basic features:
FAB 0340-1049 supports expansion of 268 Kbps HDLC (Advanced Data Link Control) and is compatible with the fieldbus of FBI100 to 100 series FBMS.
It offers patented fault-tolerant operation using two control modules to improve reliability relative to other process controllers.
Technical specifications:
Support external time synchronization from GPS satellites using optional time synchronization.
Provides fault-tolerant online image updates to FCP270 without shutting down the process.
Packaged in a rugged die-cast aluminum housing and CE certified for harsh G3 environment operation.
Software compatibility:
Support for I/A series of self-managed mode software versions 8.4-v8.8 or Foxboro Evo™ Control Core Services v9.0 or later.
The use of FCP270 simplifies the process automation system architecture, requiring only field cabinets and workstation Ethernet switches.
Fault tolerant function:
The fault-tolerant version of the FCP270 consists of two modules that run in parallel mode with two Ethernet connections to the Foxboro Evo control network.
The message will only leave the controller if both modules agree on the message to be sent (a bit indicates a bit match).
When a fault is detected, the two modules self-diagnose to determine which module is defective, and then the defect-free module takes over control to ensure continuous system operation.
Communication and connectivity:
FAB 0340-1049 is based on a 3-wire connection of digital switched signals, which are sent in the form of serial telegrams.
Suitable for signal transmission and energy supply under any network, fieldbus or backplane main line.
With IO-Link, information can be exchanged between the I/O level and field devices in the form of a serial protocol.
