DC53 steel is a special high chromium steel and a universal high toughness cold stamping die steel from Datong, Japan. After quenching and high-temperature tempering at 520-530 ℃, the hardness of this steel can reach 62-63HRC, which is higher than that of SKD11 steel. Although the hardness has increased by 2-3HRC, the * * * performance has greatly improved, and the impact toughness has significantly increased, making it an excellent steel grade to replace D2. The etching processing performance and wire cutting performance are good, surpassing SKD11 steel in strength and * * * performance, and the toughness is twice that of SKD11 steel. The toughness of this steel is particularly outstanding in cold work mold steel, so molds made with this steel rarely have cracks or collapses, greatly improving the service life of the steel. The residual stress after wire cutting processing was reduced after high-temperature tempering.

Used for large molds and * * * molds, it suppresses cracks and deformations after wire cutting processing, and has higher machinability than SKD11 steel. Therefore, the use of this steel can increase the service life of molds and reduce processing steps. This steel can also overcome the weakness of insufficient high-temperature hardness and toughness of SDK11 steel, and will replace SKD11 steel in the field of general and * * * molds.

2. Supply status

Softened annealed state, hardness 220-260HBW.

3. Chemical composition

The main chemical components (mass fraction) of this steel are: C1.00%, Cr8.00%, Mo2.00%, V0.28%, Si0.91%, Mn0.32%.

4. Refer to the corresponding brand

Japan's DAIDO standard brand DC53, Austria's BOHLER standard brand K340, Taiwan, China's EVERGCREEN standard brand GD2000, Sweden's ASSAB standard brand DF2.

5. Quenching and tempering specifications

The quenching temperature is 940-960 ℃, the tempering temperature is 180-220 ℃, and the hardness is 60-62HRC.

6. Typical application examples

1) Used for punching molds, cold forming molds, cold drawing molds, forming roll punches, and cold extrusion molds.

2) Stamping dies for wire cutting and various purposes.

3) Molds for plastic deformation of difficult to machine materials: cold forging, deep drawing, and wire rolling molds, high-speed punching punches, stainless steel plate punches.

4) Suitable for cold stamping molds with high * * *, high hardness, and high toughness.

5) Especially for molds that require higher working conditions than D2 steel and molds that require higher toughness, * * * stands out.

6) Can be used for large molds and * * * molds.
