The WOODWARD MSLC-2 8440-1977 module is a microprocessor-based load control module launched by Woodward, mainly used in three-phase power stations. The following is a detailed introduction from the aspects of functions, features, applications, etc.:


Functional Features


  • Synchronization Function: It can provide phase matching or slip frequency synchronization, achieve voltage matching at the grid-connection or tie circuit breaker, allow selection of slip frequency or voltage phase matching synchronization, and also has a two-side dead bus option, providing sufficient flexibility for tie and main tie applications.

  • Load Control: It can sense True Root Mean Square (RMS) power, realizing shock-free loading and unloading with the public power grid. It has basic load, import/export, process and utility unloading modes, which can simultaneously control the active power (kW) between different power sources, and accurately control the reactive power (VAR) and power factor.

  • Communication Capability: It communicates via Ethernet and supports redundant Ethernet communication to enhance reliability. It also supports the Ethernet Modbus TCP protocol, facilitating remote control and monitoring through PLC or DCS systems.

  • Control Capability: One MSLC-2 module can provide master control for up to 32 DSLC-2s and 15 additional MSLC-2s in the system. When used in combination with DSLC-2, it can handle multiple utility connections for up to 8 bus segments.

  • Power Supply Requirements: The operating voltage range is 8 to 40 VDC, supporting 12/24 VDC power supply, with a wide voltage adaptation range to adapt to different power supply environments.

  • Wiring Phase: It can be set to 3-phase 4-wire wiring phase, which can flexibly adapt to different wiring modes of power systems.
