HONEYWELL FC-USI-0001 is a universal safety interface module. Here are its detailed specifications:

Function

It can serve as a hardware firewall to protect the safety functions within the safety manager, ensuring the security and reliability of critical control processes in industrial systems.

Processor

It adopts the Motorola 8260 communication processor, which provides stable processing capabilities for communication management and data transmission between the module and external devices.

Storage Configuration

EEPROM: Used to store module-specific data, such as two MAC addresses and hardware revision numbers, ensuring basic identification information remains intact during power cycles.
8MB Flash Memory: Stores system and application programs. The content of the flash memory is copied to SRAM during startup and executed from there. Additionally, flash memory content can be updated without removing the module from the controller chassis, facilitating on-site maintenance and function upgrades.
4MB Local SRAM: Used for system, application, and information storage, equipped with error detection and correction logic to ensure data integrity during read and write operations.
256KB Shared RAM: Enables data exchange between the USI-0001 and the control processor, supporting real-time information interaction in the control system.

Communication Interfaces

Equipped with two dual-speed fast Ethernet transceivers, supporting flexible network connection and high-speed data transmission to adapt to different industrial communication network environments.
Features two universal serial communication controller channels, which can be configured for serial communication protocols to connect with serial devices such as sensors or actuators.

Certification

Certified to IEC 61508, the standard for functional safety of electrical, electronic, and programmable electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with international functional safety requirements.
