I. Overview

GE IC698PSA350E is a multi-purpose high-capacity power supply module, which is an important member of the PACSystem RX7i series. It is specially designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern industrial automation for stable and efficient power supply. With advanced design concepts and excellent manufacturing processes, this module provides reliable power guarantee for various industrial equipment, ensuring that complex control systems can operate continuously and stably. It is an indispensable key component in the process of industrial automation.

II. Core Functions

Stable and efficient power output: It can provide a power output of up to 300 watts, which can meet the power demand of a variety of industrial equipment. Its input voltage supports 24VDC (some data mention that 48VDC can be an option), and the working voltage range is 18 to 30VDC, showing good voltage adaptability and can effectively cope with common voltage fluctuations in industrial sites. The output voltage includes +5VDC, +12VDC or -12VDC, which can flexibly adapt to the power supply requirements of different equipment. In terms of maximum output current, for example, it can reach 5A at +5VDC, providing sufficient power for the stable operation of equipment.

Comprehensive and reliable protection mechanism: It has built-in perfect protection functions, which can respond in time and take protective measures against abnormal conditions such as over-voltage faults, over-current and overheating. When over-voltage or over-current is detected, the module will quickly cut off the output to avoid damage to the equipment caused by abnormal current and voltage. For the problem of overheating, in addition to the overheating protection function, it is also equipped with a powerful heat dissipation mechanism. Through a strong tray fan installed at the bottom, cold air is forced into the power module to ensure good heat dissipation effect. At the same time, there is an air flow sensor. Once a fan failure or air circulation blockage is detected, the module will immediately turn off all outputs and light up the red overheating LED indicator to remind operators to handle it in time. When the internal temperature drops to the normal working level, the module can automatically resume normal operation, which greatly improves the safety and reliability of the system operation.

Intuitive and clear status indication: It is equipped with three LED indicators, which work together with the air flow sensor to intuitively display the working status of the module. When the green "output normal" indicator is on, it means that all three DC output channels are working normally within the specified range; if any one of the DC output channels fails, the indicator will go off. The red "overheat" LED indicator lights up when the power supply temperature exceeds the critical limit or the air flow sensor detects air flow interruption, which timely alarms users, making it easy for operators to quickly grasp the operation status of the module and find and solve potential problems in time.

Power parameters: The input voltage is 24VDC (some can support 48VDC), and the input power reaches 430W. The working voltage range is between 18 and 30VDC, which can adapt to a variety of industrial power environments. There are multiple choices of output voltage: +5VDC, +12VDC or -12VDC. The cooling method adopts forced air cooling, and the heat dissipation effect is ensured by an air flow of 70 cubic feet per minute, maintaining the module to work stably at a suitable temperature.

Physical parameters: In terms of size, the width is about 150mm, the height is about 100mm, and the depth is about 50mm. It adopts a compact industrial module design, which is convenient for installation in various control cabinets, equipment racks and other environments with limited space.
