Breif of cup packer
Cup packer is mainly composed of upper joint, cup and center tube.
It is a kind of selfsealing packer. The pipe annulus is sealed by interference cup and casing inwall. On the impact of downhole pressure difference, cup expanses to seal the annulus and it just can bear one-way big pressure differential.
Cone cup is the main part of cup packer. It is vulcanized rubber on the metal frame. Cup packer is used in well together with other downhole tools. When the tool down to the designed position, it’s sealed by compression between cup and
inwall and pressure difference. Pull the column to realize unsealing.
