Radar level meter is a non-contact radar level meter using the pulse principle, which can be widely used to measure the distance, level, volume, weight and open channel flow of liquids, slurries and gunks, and can also be used to measure solid media such as powder, particles and blocks. Stable measurement is possible even in dusty, agitated applications

Measurement principle

The radar level meter transmits a very narrow microwave pulse signal with very low energy through the antenna. The pulse signal is transmitted in space at the speed of light and is reflected when it meets the measured medium. The reflected signal is received by the instrument. The time interval between transmitting pulse signal and receiving pulse signal is proportional to the distance between the datum surface and the measured medium surface. The distance between the antenna and the medium surface is measured.

Time 1: The initial pulse is generated

Time 4: The reflected pulse is received and recorded by the processor

Guided wave radar position meter

Measurement principle

Guided wave radar is a measuring instrument based on the principle of time travel. Radar waves travel at the speed of light, and the running time can be converted into level signals through electronic components. The probe emits a high-frequency pulse and propagates along the cable. When the pulse hits the surface of the material, it is reversely transmitted back to the receiver in the meter, and the distance signal is converted into a level signal.
