Product Description
Sodium trithiocyanate salt is a white crystalline solid with high solubility in water.
Trisodium trithiocyanate is often used in the coordination chemistry of metal ions and can be used as a ligand to participate in the formation of metal complexes. It can also be used as a catalyst, for example in organic synthesis reactions.
This compound is usually prepared by the reaction of thiocyanic acid with an alkali metal salt. Under laboratory conditions, trisodium thiocyanate salts can be prepared by mixing thiocyanate with a solution of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.
