Polyurethane and polyether have excellent oil resistance, good toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance (low temperature resistance), water resistance, aging resistance, acid and alkali resistance, climate resistance, long service life, UV resistance, energy release, and many other excellent functions. They are suitable for oil pollution and extremely harsh low-temperature environments.

Cable insulation materials usually cannot withstand high mechanical stress, and on the other hand, they have been widely used as sheath materials. Especially suitable for flexible control and connection cables that frequently come into contact with sharp edges and rough surfaces. Because cables in this environment are prone to causing cuts, which can be stretched during flexible use of the cable. In addition, the compression and impact of tools and machines can also generate comprehensive stress. Polyurethane has the following important continuing properties:

High tensile strength

Improve tear resistance

Anti notch

Wear resistance

Resistance to repeated bending

Impact resistance

Low temperature flexibility

Chemical resistance is related to many factors, such as five chemical types, reaction time, temperature, volume, concentration, and the type of polyurethane used. Compared to many other materials, such as rubber or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PUR) has better resistance to chemical reactions. Its outstanding chemical properties include:

Has good resistance to mineral oil

Good resistance to non alcoholic gasoline

Can be stored underwater

Good resistance to many solvents

If exposed to humid and warm environments for a long time, polyurethane based on polyester poses a risk of microbial decomposition. However, polyurethane, which is based on polyester, will not be decomposed by microorganisms. Ether polyurethane and lipid polyurethane can be distinguished by their Saponification value (VZ).

Ether polyurethane (resistant) - VZ ≤ 200

Lipid polyurethane (non resistant) - VZ ≥ 350

If exposed to hot water or Tropical climate for a long time, polyurethane with polyester as the main component will produce chemical reaction, which will reduce the mechanical strength. Relatively speaking, if polyurethane with polyester as the main component is used, it is more resistant to decomposition.

Ether polyurethane has weather resistance and ozone resistance in various climates. Under sunlight, it may fade, but this alone will not affect its performance
