Butylated Hydroxytoluene
2, 6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol is white crystal. The color turns yellow when exposed to light and gradually darkens. Soluble in benzene, toluene, methanol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, petroleum ether, linseed oil, insoluble in water and caustic soda solution at 10℃. Melting point 69-73 °C(lit.), boiling point 265 °C(lit.), density 1.048, refractive index 1.4859, flash point 127 °C.

Used as rubber, plastic antioxidant, gasoline, transformer oil, turbine oil, animal and plant oil, food and other antioxidants 4.BHT is an oil-soluble antioxidant widely used at home and abroad.
