Product Description
Butylated Hydroxytoluene
2, 6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol is white crystal. The color turns yellow when exposed to light and gradually darkens. Soluble in benzene, toluene, methanol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, petroleum ether, linseed oil, insoluble in water and caustic soda solution at 10℃. Melting point 69-73 °C(lit.), boiling point 265 °C(lit.), density 1.048, refractive index 1.4859, flash point 127 °C.

1. For organic synthesis 2. Plastic additives 3. Used as rubber, plastic antioxidant, gasoline, transformer oil, turbine oil, animal and plant oil, food and other antioxidants 4.BHT is an oil-soluble antioxidant widely used at home and abroad. Although the toxicity is large, but its antioxidant ability is strong, heat resistance and stability is good, neither specific odor, nor encounter metal ions color reaction and other shortcomings. 5.BHT can be used as a feed antioxidant to protect the vitamins in the feed and prevent the oxidative loss of fat and protein. It also has certain antibacterial effect. 6. As a general phenolic antioxidant. Widely used in polymer materials, petroleum products and food processing industry. This product is a commonly used rubber antioxidant. It has a certain protective effect on heat and oxygen aging, and can also inhibit copper damage. 7. Organic synthesis. It can be used as an antioxidant in the food processing industry to prevent discoloration, oxidation, rancidity and other phenomena caused by oxygen and heat in processed foods.
