Product Description
CETEARYL ALCOHOL
Alkyl C16-18 alcohols should be white granular or flaky solids with a special odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, trichloromethane and other organic solvents, with alcohol. The 18hexadecitol system is prepared by reducing suitable fatty acids from plant or animal sources, or directly from hydrocarbons.

Product application
Lubricants; Emulsifier; Viscosifier. This product can be used in cosmetics and topical preparations. In topical preparations, 18cetyl alcohol increases the viscosity of w/o and o/w emulsions. It stabilizes and co-emulsifies the emulsion, thus reducing the amount of surfactant required to form a stable emulsion. 18hexadecitol is also used in the preparation of non-aqueous creams and lipsticks. It has been reported that 18hexadecitol can be used to reduce the release of water-soluble drugs. In combination with surfactants, it can form emulsions with very complex microstructure, including liquid crystal, plate structure and gel phase. C16-18 alcohol is obtained from natural oil through esterification, hydrogenation and fractionation. Fatty alcohol is used in cosmetics, plastics, leather, textile, synthetic detergent and other industries. It is suitable for all kinds of cosmetics as a substrate, especially suitable for cream and lotion, hair and skin care. It is also used in industry as a raw material for textile auxiliaries.
It can be used to prepare a makeup removing mask with water as solvent, glycerin, cetyl palmitate, PEG-7 olive oil ester, glycerin cocoate, isocetane, and polydimethylsiloxane, polysorbate-80, polysorbate-20 as emulsifier. Cetyl stearyl isononate, cetyl stearol-20, cetyl stearol-12, glycerin stearate and cetyl stearol-12 were used as emollients, and phenoxyethanol and hydroxyphenylate were used as preservatives. The copolymer of sodium acrylate/sodium acrylyl dimethyltaurine was used as thickener. It is prepared from purslane extract skin conditioner and essence.
