Usage: Biochemical research, phospholipase D (PLD) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine (PC) to produce phosphatidic acid (PA) and choline. The activity of PC-PLD is regulated by hormones, cytokines, neurotransmitters, and growth factors. Therefore, it is believed to play a role in signal transduction of various cell types. The three important lipid messengers produced by PLD play important roles in various important cellular processes, and these lipids also play important roles in downstream triglyceride and phospholipid synthesis pathways. PLD is necessary for the exocytosis of neurons and endocrine cells. In addition, it also plays a crucial role in phagocytosis. Phospholipase D has activity against sphingolipids and lysophospholipids. Phospholipase D hydrolyzes the phosphate bonds between phospholipids and sphingolipids to obtain corresponding phosphatidic acids
