This product is a 316L stainless steel powder sintered filter disc with a filtration rating of 10 micrometers, an outer diameter of 65 mm, and a thickness of 10 mm. It is manufactured using high-purity 316L stainless steel powder through a process of die compaction followed by high-temperature sintering. The edge is precision-machined via turning, resulting in a smooth, burr-free surface. This sintering technique creates uniform and interconnected micropores throughout the disc, ensuring both high particle capture efficiency and excellent mechanical strength.
The molybdenum content in 316L provides outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, and chloride-rich environments, preventing pitting or intergranular corrosion. The turned edge improves sealing compatibility during installation and reduces the risk of secondary contamination from edge fragmentation. Overall, this filter disc achieves a strong balance between high-precision filtration and structural durability.
Features
High Filtration Accuracy and Stability
The 10 µm rating effectively removes the vast majority of fine particulates, making it suitable for applications demanding high cleanliness. The three-dimensional sintered pore structure resists deformation and maintains consistent filtration performance even after repeated backwashing and cleaning, resulting in extended service life.
Excellent Corrosion and Temperature Resistance
316L stainless steel offers outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, and salt spray, enabling long-term operation across a wide pH range. Additionally, the sintered metal structure can withstand elevated temperatures (typically up to 600°C or higher in oxidizing atmospheres, depending on conditions), making it suitable for filtering high-temperature fluids or gases.
High Mechanical Strength with Smooth Edge
The die compaction and sintering process gives the disc high compressive and flexural strength, minimizing the risk of cracking or collapse. The machined edge provides a smooth profile (rounded or flat) that fits tightly with seals or housings, while preventing downstream contamination caused by loose burrs.
Cleanable and Regenerable with High Dirt-Holding Capacity
Thanks to its uniform and well-connected pore channels, the disc can be regenerated using ultrasonic cleaning, backwashing, or chemical methods. Unlike surface-type filter media, the depth-filtration structure offers greater dirt-holding capacity, extending the interval between cleaning cycles.
Applications
Chemical and Petrochemical Industry
Used for precision filtration of high-viscosity polymer melts, catalyst particles, solvents, and corrosive liquids to remove mechanical impurities and reaction residues, thereby protecting downstream pumps, valves, and reactors and reducing unplanned shutdowns.
Pharmaceutical and Bioengineering
Employed as terminal or pre-filtration elements in active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) purification, Water for Injection (WFI), and gas sterilization. The 316L material complies with pharmaceutical requirements for non-toxicity, easy cleaning, and resistance to high-temperature steam sterilization.
Food and Beverage Processing
Applied in edible oil refining, beer and wine clarification, syrup filtration, and process gas purification. The stainless steel material does not release harmful substances and supports Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) procedures, meeting food-grade hygiene standards.
Environmental Protection and Water Treatment
Used for pre-RO (reverse osmosis) security filtration, activated carbon or ion exchange resin retention, and industrial wastewater pretreatment. The 10 µm precision effectively protects downstream RO or nanofiltration membranes, reducing cleaning frequency and extending membrane life.
Oil, Gas, and Energy Sector
Applied in produced water and injection water filtration, amine filtration for natural gas desulfurization, and turbine oil purification. The disc resists pressure, temperature, and corrosion from hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, making it suitable for harsh field and offshore platform environments.
Analytical Instruments and Precision Equipment
Serves as an in-line filter element in gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (HPLC), and other analytical instruments to remove particulates from mobile phases and prevent column blockage. Also used for point-of-use filtration in high-purity gas lines to ensure reliable operation of sensors and valves.
Package and Shipment
1. Sintered Filters are usually packed in cartons, wrapped in soft film, and fixed in a box filled with industrial foam cotton, and the outer baler is packed with plastic bags with no damage during transportation.
2. Wooden box export packaging can also be customized. The foam cotton can be filled and fixed, the external box is sealed, the bottom is specified, the whole packaging is processed, and the goods can be delivered to the designated place of the customer without damage.
