Specialty:
Has been pre-hardened to 37 ~ 41HRC(surface hardness), without heat treatment.
Suitable for mold and parts with complex and precise shape.
Excellent cutting performance, easy to process and mould.
It is expected to shorten the mold processing cycle and reduce the cost.
If the surface treatment can be further improved wear and corrosion resistance.

DF2 die steel channel is used for a variety of cold working applications. It is a general oil quenched tool steel. Its characteristics include good machining performance, good dimensional stability during annealing, high surface hardness after quenching or tempering, and constant toughness, which make it have good service life and economic benefits in production.
DF2 die steel is mainly applicable to:
● Punching, punching, perforating, cutting, trimming, trimming;
Cold cutting, cutting and trimming of forgings;
o Bending, drawing, deep drawing, edging, forming, edging;
8 spinning forming small embossing die;
Gauge, measuring tool lathe thimble, guide sleeve, jacking rod;
8 Small and medium-sized drill bits and taps, tap pinion gears, pistons, nozzles, cams, etc.
Processing:
Soft annealing: Heated to 780°C. Cooled to 650°C at 15°C/ h with the furnace, after air cooling.
Stress removal: After rough machining, the workpiece should be heated to 650°C and held for 2 hours. Slow cooling to 500°C, rear air cooling.
Quenching: Preheating temperature: 600-700 °C austenitizing temperature: 790-850 °C
Quenching medium: oil temperature about 80°C, 180-225 °C graded quenching furnace or flow particle furnace, after air cooling. Notice that the workpiece temperature reaches 50-70 °C immediately temper.
Tempering: Select tempering temperature according to hardness requirements according to the tempering curve. Temper at least twice and cool to room temperature in between. 180°C is the lowest tempering temperature. The minimum holding time is 2 hours.
Welding: Tool steel is usually at risk of cracking after welding. If welding must be performed, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as the preparation of suitable groove; Selection of filling materials, preheating welding process implementation, post-welding heat treatment, to ensure good welding results. If the workpiece has polishing or skin grain requirements, welding must be selected to match the composition of the electrode.
Cryogenic treatment: After quenching, the workpiece should be cryogenic treatment at 70 to 80C for 3-4 hours, then tempering or aging. Cryogenic treatment will increase the hardness of the mold 1-3HRC. During cryogenic treatment, miscellaneous shapes should be avoided to prevent cracking.
Aging treatment: After quenching, the aging treatment is carried out at 110-140 °C. Keep warm for 25-100 hours instead of tempering.
