The unit is mcd · m-2 · lx-1. The main characteristics of its research: it simulates the motor vehicle driving on the road at night, the headlights illuminate the road (made of retro-reflective materials), and after being reflected, the brightness observed by the driver in the cab.
The measured parameter is the nighttime retroreflective brightness coefficient, or RL value.
