A large number of I / O module extensions

There is an interface on the right side of the controller that can connect up to 12 S800 I / O modules and 192 S800 I / O points through the electrical modulebus. These 12 basic I / O families can be installed on two DIN rails by connecting cables.

Another way to expand the I / O module is through the optical modulebus connector on the card. Seven S800 I / O clusters can be connected to this bus.

The system can also expand more I / O clusters through PROFIBUS DP bus and even be installed remotely. In this mode, one ac800m can manage thousands of I / O points.

A backup battery for ram is installed on the controller module to ensure data protection in case of power failure of the system.

On the surface of the controller module, there are LED indicators for power supply, operation, error, battery OK, data transmission / reception of various communication ports, and a reset button.

PROFIBUS-DP communication module

The Profibus DP module communicates with the main (processor) module through the CEX bus interface.

The Profibus module of ac800m acts as the master station to periodically read and store data from the slave station through the bus. The scanning period depends on the bus transmission rate and the number of slave stations that can be accessed.

Using repeaters, a bus can be connected with up to 124 nodes, and each section can be connected with 32 nodes.

The cable length is up to 1200 meters, and its transmission distance is limited by the speed. If optical fiber transmission is used, the maximum distance can reach 20km, and the communication rate is 12MB / s.
