Preassembly of Glass Melting Tank

The glass melting tank is the main component of the glass melting furnace, where the raw materials such as silica sand and soda ash are melted at a high temperature. The sidewall of the tank are usually higher than one meter. There is a weir near the throat dividing the tank into two areas. The bottom of the tank will be covered with paving bricks, usually more than 70mm thick. There will also be small pieces of bricks to cover the gap between the paving brick and the sidewall. Glass melting furnaces are thermal equipment for melting glass and are usually constructed by refractory materials. Fused cast AZS block is the most important materials to ensure the normal operation of the glass melting furnace. The application of fused cast AZS block makes the glass melting furnace with higher melting rate, longer service life time and lower fuel consumption.

 Above are top crown, paving brick, throat and feeder channel of glass melting furnace. 

Fused cast AZS block usually comes in three grades 33#,36#,41#, depending on the content of ZrO2. It has four casting methods: PT,QX,ZWS,WS. Usually the 41#ws block is used in the most difficult working conditions. According to the type of glass liquid and furnace catacity in different area of the furnace to choose different grades AZS blocks, can get as high as possible cost performance. AZS blocks will not contaminate the liquid glass.The following diagram shows the chemical composition of AZS 33# block.

Fused cast blocks usually named zircon corundum brick also name AZS bricks( alumina zircon silica ),according to the ZrO2 content difference ,can be named AZS 5.5 ,AZS 12 .AZS 33, AZS 36, AZS 41 and so on. Beside because this type bricks are produced by special electric furnace by model, we also called this products Fused cast AZS bricks. Also according to the brick if have shrinkage cavities, we call them PT, QX, ZWS, WS.

These bricks are widely used for iron & steel furnace and glass furnace, also chemical industrial furnace, especial in the glass furnace, you will find it usually.
