Membrane bioreactor (MBR)is a new type of wastewater treatment technology which combines membrane separation technology with biotechnology. That is, the membrane treatment process is combined with the traditional activated sludge process. The membrane module is used to replace the secondary sedimentation tank in the traditional activated sludge process, and the solid-liquid separation is carried out by using the high efficiency interception of the membrane. Thus, the membrane bioreactor sewage treatment process is formed.

Advantages of MBR system

1. The high efficiency solid-liquid separation technology makes the separation effect much better than that of the ordinary secondary sedimentation tank, and can completely remove the suspended matter in the water production. The turbidity of the water production is close to zero, and the water quality is good and stable. The production water can be reused directly.

2. Because the aeration tank and secondary settling tank of traditional sewage treatment are combined in MBR, the area occupied is greatly reduced and the investment in civil construction is saved.

3. The sludge concentration of biological treatment unit is high and the sludge age is long, which greatly improves the degradation efficiency of refractory organic matter. At the same time, the removal rate of main pollutants (COD) can reach 90% due to the adsorption of activated sludge.

4.Because of the membrane interception, nitrifying bacteria were completely intercepted in the bioreactor and propagated, which enhanced the nitrification ability of the system and improved the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants.

5.When the reactor runs at low organic load rate, the amount of excess activated sludge is much lower than that of activated sludge in traditional process, and no sludge bulking reduces the disposal cost of excess sludge.

6.Automatic control (PLC), easy operation and management, low noise.
