Gemstone refractometer

Gem refractometer is a precision optical instrument designed by using the principle of total reflection of light. It is mainly used to measure the refractive index of gemstones. The refractometer ratio is the most important parameter used by gemologists to distinguish and identify precious stones. The refractometer can be used to measure the refractive index, birefractive index, axial and optical positive and negative of gemstones. The measurement range of refractometer is usually RI=1.35-1.85. Refractive index oil is often used to achieve close contact between the gemstone to be tested and the prism surface.
