QDF-N Handong made superior quality friction disc brake
QDF-N is spring applied air release brake, it means this type of brake normally is in locked status, its working thoery is opposite with QDF air engagement brake. As this brake is braked by springs, so its braking force is less than QDD air release brake. No matter QDF or QDF-N air friction brake, they are both suitable for clamp 12.7 thickness steel plate.
QDF-N type horizontal type pneumatic brake is large braking torque friction type spring enaged brake, it looks like air engaged caliper disc brake QDD type. There are two models of it: QDF-2N, QDF-3N. This QDF-N model brake is spring engaged, that is to say, when there is no input air pressure, brake is braked for stopping; after inputting air pressure, two friction pads will release, braking in releasing status.
This type QDF-N brake is controlled by springs, so braking force is controlled by springs quantity. As usually, it has 8 pieces of springs, if you want to reduce braking force, the spring quantity can be reduce to 6 pieces as needed. On the other hand, although QDF-2N air volume is 300cm3, QDF-3N air volume is 700cm3, larger than QDF-2 and QDF-3. But its braking force is less than it. For example, when steel disc diameter is 711mm, QDF-2 brake torque is 2400N.m, while QDF-2N braking torque is 1700N.m. QDF-3 braking power is 4200N.m, and QDF-3N braking force is only 3350N.m.
This friction type brake can be work for high speed rotating, so friction pads will be worn for continous usage. One piece of new friction pad thickness is 11mm, the max total worn of two pieces of friction pads is 12mm, this character is the same with QDF-N normal braked brake.
Air volume will decide this brake's braking force. QDF-2N is equiped with 2# air cylinder head, and QDF-3N is equiped with 3# air cylinder head, so QDF-3N braking force is nearly twice of QDF-2N. For example, when braking disc diameter is 300mm. QDF-2 braking force is 900N.m, while QDF-3 produce braking power is 1500N.m. Max braking torque of QDD-2N is 600N.m, QDD-3N is 1200N.m.
