QDE-N spring engagement caliper disc brake for coiling machine
QDE-N normal braking air friction brake is spring engagement air release operation. Its working is opposite with normal releasing type brake QDE. As usually, QDE-N is in brake status, it will not released until inputting air source enter its chamber. With this character, QDE-N spring engaged brake is popular used in emergency situation or heavy duty equipment.
There are two models of this caliper disc brake: QDE-3.5N, QDE-4N. They are equiped with 3.5" and 4" air cylinder head in separately, so their braking power is different. Following is the structure and technical data of this QDE-N brake.
According to this table, QDE-N braking force is very large, max can be reached to 20000N.m. And we can understand that these two models of brake friction pads open mouth is different. The QDE-3.5N is suitable for friction disk thickness is 25.4mm, and QDE-4N is suitable for friction disk thickness is 40mm. Although QDE-3.5N and QDE-4N cylinder head size is much different, one is 3.5# cylinder head, another is 4# cylinder head, their air volume is much different. QDE-3.5N air volume is 95cm3, QDE-4N air volume capacity is 300cm3.
On the other hand, caliper disc brake's braking force is varied as braking disc diameter. In air pressure is 0.6Mpa, when braking disk diameter is 915mm, QDE-3.5N braking force is about 10500N.m, QDE-4N is 12500N.m. When friction plate diameter is 1370mm, QDE-3.5N brake's braking power is 16500N.m, QDE-4N braking power is nearly 20000N.m.
This type normal braking brake is an economic, durable, low cost, easy installation, simple maintenance and high precision control, wide torque adjustment, good heat dissipation, so it is widely used in packaging machinery, thin paper and corrugated paper machinery, printing machinery, wire equipment, textile machinery, rubber machinery, tire machinery, production line, paper making machinery, construction machinery, food machinery, plywood machinery and etc.
